Picked up this thing for dirt cheap. It's been ridden hard and obviously crashed a lot. Starts on the first kick and runs strong, though! I originally thought it might be a coolster, but apparently a lot of Chinese companies use this same looking frame. It has 14" front and 12" rear wheels and hydraulic discs. The engine has electric (not hooked up) and kick start, with the starter under the engine. I looked up the code that's stamped under the crankcase which apparently corresponds to a 50cc, but it feels like it has more power than a 50. The shifting is weird, it's a 4-down pattern. Neutral is all the way up and you click down to upshift. It doesn't have circular shifting or whatever, it stops in 4th gear. The cylinder is marked Gongyu (or something), no other markings. I tried the vin in a decoder but all it could come up with is a production year of 2005. Any ideas???

Welcome to Minirider's.

Make sure you drop by and say hello in our Introduce Yourself thread too while you're here

The engine look's like it's a Zongshen 50cc going by the vertical fin's on the cylinder.
And yeah pit bike's use a lot of generic part's on them so working out a brand might be hard to do.
It could also be a SSR pit bike.
Part's should be pretty easy to find on ebay etc

Cheer's, Craig

The bike could be 70cc. To be sure measure the cylinder bore, if it is 47mm it is 70cc, if it is 39mm then you have a 50cc. It also may have longer stroke crank in it.
