i gotta question

how come when i try to switch into third on my 125 i cant and when i switch into second i keep switching into neutral

ya might need a bit better explanation, so you go 1st 2nd and cant get to third? and then try to kick it down and shifts into neutral? How old is the bike? Maybe something wrong with the selector??
