Who's had a bad experience on egay? Dumb question ... we all have.

I've bid, won and paid for a GPS mount for my car, so I can mount my PDA with GPS in it. The seller says nothing for over a week, even after I ask him to confirm he has payment and he has sent the item. Last night I discover he's made an unpaid dispute against me.

Not only was he paid (via paypal) but he was overpaid. Confirmation of paypal receipt was sent to him and egay. The ****** is not answering any of my messages. Friggin chinese ******s!!!!! I've made a counter-dispute against him. No point going to paypal, they don't care, especially since the transaction was under $20.

I don't care for the money. Its wasting my bloody time and acting like a **** in the meantime.

ah ... fell better already

[end rant]

is the work of the devil...

I have lodged a dispute with this F/WIT on ebay as well, ebay don't seem to be doing much as the purchase price was under $25.
But thats only 1 bad transaction of about 200 good ones that I have had.
I couldn't say that I have been to a dozen shops here locally without me Spuin about the thing I bought, and they don't give a rats arse when I take it back.
So at the end of the day I have had better experience from ebay that I have off local vendors.
I think that its the waiting and the lack of communication that frustrates me more than the item I bought being a bit dodgy.

same here i bought a pair of shift boots off ebay an i payed by bank deposit
$300,
one weeks goes by no boots so i send him a email he says were backed up in orders so ill send them soon another week later same message we are still trying to ship our items out ill send them soon, another week later his ebay site dissapers and no replys to my emails 2 more emails still no reply so i got his phone number from ebay i called 3 times a week for 3 weeks and all i got was his answering machine so 15 months later no boots lol
but thats been it the rest of the stuff i have bought off ebay has been good

Without E-Bay the majority of this forum wouldnt even have a bike

True. Without egay, I wouldn't have my race bike. Most of the parts I used to repair it came from egay.

But I have been ripped off along the way. And so long as egay gets its cut from the sellers they really won't give a ****.

wouldnt you have needed preetttyyy much a whole second bike to fix that LOL!

GSXR 750 USD fork assembly
front rim
Vortex clip ons
radiator
Leo Vince full Ti race system
frame professionally straightened by chassis engineer

Not hard when you do it yourself. LOL

oooo ****...wat did ya do?

Wasn't me. Although my R1 looked similar to that, and it was me on my R1 when I was hit. I bought the GSXR as a wreck off egay from a guy in QLD who crashed it. Got it for $1200. I was pretty happy. LOL

It was a repairable write off, so I could put street gear on it and sell it with rego. But I wanted a bike for racing. I took a gamble and sold my Aprilia RS250 race bike for $5K for a quick sale to buy and start building a 600 or 1000 race bike. The gamble paid off. This thing came up on egay the week I sold my RS. Mind you, it cost me over $700 to get and engineer to straighten this thing spot on to factory dimensions, and work is guaranteed and all. On the track, blasting around turn 4 at 230kph I can vouch for it that its deifnately straight.!! LOL

I like to look at their rating and read the comments.

What has it cost to get it to where it is now?

All up, to build a competitive GSXR 600 and run 1m18s consistently around Mallala, it cost me:

$1,250 for bike (from QLD)
$700 to straighten frame
$200 for forks (from US)
$300 for race glass (from US)
$100 for front rim
$130 for Pirelli tyres (one day track use)
$50 radiator (from US)
$50 Vortex clipons (from US)
$40 Vortex race fairing stay (from US)
$200 to ship the lot from US
$150 new chain and sprockets
$150 PowerCommander IIIr ecu
$500 Leo Vince full Ti race system (used)
$45 for paint (painted it myself - spray painter by trade)
and $5 here and $20 there for minor mods etc

So no more than $4,000 to build my own race bike in a 3 months time period. Of course, I'm now accumulating spares: gearbox, race glass, forks, tyres, but they don't count as far as getting the bike track ready in the first place. It woudl cost you at least $7,500 to buy a bike like this, then there's the extras like stands, tyres, spare race glass, spare levers, crash protection etc.

:)

I've also been burned, paypal gave my money back at least, I now don't buy from flea bay unless i can pick up the item and pay for it then, or if i get a item posted the selers feedback must be 100% and the item be enough of a bargain for me to accept the risk, if it's over about $30 i won't do it, I miss out on alot of cheap items this way, but i won't be burned again.

Don't get me started on Ebay clowns like DHZ and the rest of them...
It will unfortunately be the end of our industry here in Oz unless all of you make the choice to shop with reputable dealers and shops that actaully care what happens to kids when they ride...
