Taking the battery out.

hey
first off this is my first time on the forum so hope im in the right section.

i got a used 250cc chinese bike off ebay and i'm not sure what make or model it is and i was hoping someone coulld tell me.

now it has electric start (kick start to) and a battery but i want to take the battery out, because im pretty sure theres no alternator to charge it and the electric start wasnt working anyway. but if i do take the battery does this mean that the kill switch and other things wont work on the bike?

any advice would be a great help.

it should not do any thing bad if you take the battery out.

Hey Kurtis, welcome to miniriders!
by the looks of it, you have yourself an 07 or 08 Orion X-moto XB-31.
250cc Loncin or Zongshen motor, 19/16" wheel combination. Got a mate with one of these, they're actually a great little fun bike to thrash around through the scrub.
Taking out the battery will do nothing aside from lightening your bike. If you tape up, or shrink wrap the terminals where the wiring bolts to the battery, you cant do any harm.
The bikes do run an alternator of sorts, and will charge the batteries, but the bike does not need the battery for anything on there to function. Once you start the bike, all your electrics will function as they did before.

ohh ok
yeah there pretty fun to thrash around.
took the battery out and it still goes fine.
it blows a fair bit of smoke but i think ill work that out later.

yeah i got it for $250 pretty good condition concidering the price.
