my new cdi that i got with my 140cc shat itself today so i put the old one off my 138cc aka 127cc
i wasnt to know are these cdi's the same? or does the 138 cdi have a different ignition curve?

also i might buy one of those performance cdi's on ebay but they say there for 110cc to 125cc so how will it go with my 140cc??

what would you guys do? go with the old cdi or but the performance cdi??

any info on those performance cdis would be good

sorry for all the questions guys!
eBay Australia: Performance CDI suit mini pit bike crf xr 50 125cc 138 (item 250111109732, end time 13-May-07 20:19:59 AEST)

They will both work personally I wouldnt bother cahnging it if its running fine now but you should get a small increase if you buy that "race CDI"

How is the 140cc going?
Have you tuned your carby?

thanks for the info cass,

yeah the 140 is going really good until yesturday when i let my sisters bf take it for a ride he came off an snapped the clutch lever, broke the throttle cable, bent the bars, broke the baffle inside the zorst an some how killed the cdi
but i fixed most of the stuff an will buy new **** that i couldnt fix
so other then that the 140 is a tuff engine an its got a better sound then the 138 top speed is impressive too

when i got it i threw on my carby with the same settings an it kicked over the 2nd kick so i let it warm up an took it down the street to see what i had to adjust on the carby, i thought i would of had to change main jet an adjust air screw anevery thing else but all i did was drop the needle clip down one an turn the idle screw down a little bit an it was pretty much perfect
after i ran it in i gave it a thrash so i could quikly take out the sparky an see how it was running an it was running perfect not rich an not lean yey!
i might play around with the air/fuel screw a lil to get it perfect

Back on the CDI, the only one I've heard that actually changed the ignition curve and makes a difference, is the Kitaco clone CDI that comes with the Kitaco close IRK

ive tried the "speeding" cdi s and found that they make a difference. it cleaned up a flat spot i had and gave better throttle respnonse. and i thought it gave a bit more power too.

Which CDI did you get, Tubes? Was it the TZR50 blue anodized when that seems to be on ebay a lot?

I have a pitpro, I have a 140cc engine in it and I got one of those race cdi's from ebay on it

they say its for a 125cc buit it works great on my 140cc

sweet thanks for the info guys ill jump on ebay an buy one cause the old one off my 138cc made it run a lil off
