hey guys, just wondering if anyone has used a inner rotor kit on a 108cc motor (kitaco kit), im about to put one of these kits on my CRF50 and would like to use an inner rotor kit with it but ive been told i would be a timebomb waiting to blow, but ive seen guys using IRKs on 124cc and stuff so why not on the 108cc, is the stroke to long for the higher RPM????
any help appreciated, cheers
heres a few shots of the bike it will be on

thats gunna be a sik bike when u finished. when u say people say they r ticking time bombs, are they directing it at tha 108 kit itself? i have heard things about IRK's and stock clutch baskets. but i dont think you will have a prob with the IRK and your 108. the stroke is exactly the same as the 124cc kits. just the 124's have a bigger piston (54mm compared to 52mm). but then again i have never had experience with them. but shouldnt be a prob.

Clarke,
If you run a kitaco inner rotor kit on anything over an 88 you risk a clutch explosion. If the bike is a manual kit then it won't happen. Thats where you may have seen a 124 with a irk on it. And Honda 50s you need better facts about kits and there specs. 108 has a 52mm bore and 51mm stroke. 124 has a 54mm bore and a 54mm stroke. I have seen many IRK problems with even 88cc kits and also seen 108's self destruct with IRK's in them. My suggestion is get your stock flywheel lightened or get an outer rotor kit from a mini specialist like BOXY.

Hey clarke how much has the frame etc cost you ? it looks sweet

I'm guessing like $7500 minus the motor ? =) thats a lot of dough
