This is my sparkplug. photo (4).JPG
Notice how the threads have a liquid in them,

And is the top to dark? And does this mean I have a rich main jet?

i wouldn't worry about the liquid on the threads.
the liquid on the threads is oil/fuel, the plug maybe wasnt done up tight enough.
be carefull though, some plugs easily snap off, or strip the threads in the heads too.

was the spark plug brand new, and did you give the bike a decent run in top gear, then turn it off?
then roll to a stop and remove the spark plug?

have you tried searching using the link in the header bar above ?

Actually Craig its funny you mention the plug may have been a tad loose as the washers are still mushroomed on this plug, when tight they flatten, I wonder if the dude has been losing compression at higher revs. Hey thisguy I would try and install everything asis and tighten the plug more you may have been losing compression from an under tensioned plug.

Yep a touch rich there, although it doesn't hurt to run a little rich top end although I'd be happier with a slightly lighter colour.

Also when doing plug up it doesn't need to be FT, tight to resistance and firm it up is adequate

I tighten it till it can't go further, do I still try to tighten it more though?

it should be tightened by hand until the washer touches the seat/head, then another 1/8 - 1/4 turn approximately.

this has been posted up before quite a few times in your threads in links that other members have posted up for you too.

I read somewhere that the oil/fuel on plugs means it is a bad stator...is that true?

Dont know about that one dude, maybe if your stator isnt producing spark and you kick it over for an extended period of time than maybe but as for the oil/fuel on a plug because of a stator i highly doubt it, especially if it is working fine, more like a rich carby, dodgy valve stem seal oil in the fuel or oil passing the rings in extremely oily plugs, but in youre case it may be a little rich but these motors like a richer setting.
