Anyone know anything about these bikes? link: LEI XR 125CC THUMPSTAR LIFAN CRF MOTOR TRAIL DIRT BIKE - eBay Other Trail Bikes, Trail Bikes, Motorcycles, Cars, Bikes Boats. (end time 04-Nov-07 11:45:00 AEDST)

A mate and i have been looking to get a mini each for a while, been reading these forums for a long time to get as much info as i can, we decided to move out and got a house we moving into next weekend, now my budget for the bike isn't as much but i still want to get one, were originaly going for a pitpro 140cc or dhz 140cc off ebay, still a possibility but was looking around ebay and came across these, i know from alot of posts the suspention on the dhz is pretty **** and noticed the lei rx has a fully adjustable rear which all seems better than the dhz, any advise on these bikes?

Note the bikes are going to be used mainly for just riding trails, not many jumps at all.

Yeh thought it might be the bettter idea to go with the original plan, thanks for the advice and quick reply.

If you are after a cheaper pitbike, check out the Orion/Apollo 125cc and 140cc bikes. All my mates have the Orion 140cc bigwheel version (17" front/14" rear wheels) and they are a blast. Very agile dirtbikes, you can throw them around corners, run through creeks, up rocky tracks, through sandy tracks - everything.

For the money, they have to be one of the best.

If you have the extra cash for the PitPro, you can't go wrong either, many ppl have pitpros and speak highly of them.

Good luck with the purchase/choice mate.

I have a lei 125cc XR mdl. I havent had any probs so far. If u look at the specs almost all chinese bikes are the same. They ALL need fixing every now and then and they ALL require servicing after every ride.... pitpro is no better if u ask me

have u even ridden a Chinese bike other then urs? there is a big difference

No I havent, but spec wise they are almost all the same. Frame is different. Thats about it. Why is a pitpro rr better than a Lei xy-s? infact the Lei xy-s has the better lifan engine over the rr. Both have same suspension, carbi, exhaust, alloy bits and bobs... just the frame is different.

i think there talking about an pitpro xr140 which is a much better bike

Specs only tell HALF the story. What they don't tell you is how well designed the frame and auxilary components are. They don't tell you how good the welding is and they definately don't tell you how well braced the frame is.

The same engine DOES NOT equal the same design.

They ALL need fixing every now and then and they ALL require servicing after every ride....
Not all pitbikes need fixing. Some of the more expensive pitbikes have generally been "fixed" before you purchase it, with stronger, more reliable parts replacing the oem crap that comes from the chinese factory.

pitpro is no better if u ask me
The PitPro branded bikes have all received good feedback on minibike forums around the world. It is one brand of only a few out of the hundreds of chinese bike brands that are constantly listed as good - that speaks for itself.

The LEI bikes are new to Ebay and are yet to "prove" themself to the market. They may end up being a great bike, but I for one wouldn't want to take a gamble on that.

The frame design and manufacture in these chinese bikes would arguable be the MOST IMPORTANT factor after the engine used.

The frame design can make or break (pun intended) the overall strength and ability of bike.

Have a read through most forums, the cheaper bikes are well known for cracking - if I was doing 80km/h the last thing I want is for the frame to crack.

As I mentioned above, the LEI is new, so untested and unknown, but in the end it may be just as good a bike as the PitPro :)

Since you own one, feel free to provide a review for others, with updates of riding performance and anything that may go wrong. This would be much more beneficial to others.
