hey all
about to get a new motor just wanting to know if there is a significant differance of power between these motors and is the 138 really worth the extra $80 or so? also like to know what peoples thoughts on these engins are. i have an old 125 lifan and its fucked so yer and i dont got much cash.

mate the 138cc are actually 127cc china got something wrong and badged it incorrectly. get a 140cc if you can afford it or get the 127/138 and bore it out or get a hc piston.
ive got a 138(127) and it hammers but i dont think thered be much diff. between the 127 and 125

Yes the 127 and 138 Lifans are one and the same (54 x 55.5) ! I bought a Super "125" Lifan kick in gear motor off a guy who sells dirt bikes online and tore it down to check the bore and stroke - it turned out to be (52.4 x 55.5) 120 cc - so I think you'd notice a bit of a difference between the 125 and a 127 !!!!!

thats sucks cactus jack i think that all 125cc arent 120 though so if you got a proper 125 there prob wouldnt be much diff btween that and the 127

I'm pretty sure that the Lifan 138's with the crank mounted clutch that were in the first "138" DHZ's were 54 bore x 54 stroke (123.6 cc) because they have a 20 mm countershaft like all 54 x54 ~ 124 Zongshens ! All other engines have a 17 mm countershaft .

Even "125" Jialing GPX's with a 52.4 bore x 57 stroke are only 122.9 cc .
