Gday all,

I am looking at getting 2 of my 3 kids started in trail bike riding. They are aged 6 (boy) and 10 (girl). So I am looking for suggestions as to what power and brand to go for. I am limited to around 800-1k as I am also getting a jap 250 for myself (cant let the kids have all the fun).

ATM I am thinking 70cc for the boy and 125 cc for the girl, is 125 a bit much for a 10 yo? As they are first bikes for both I doubt they will get to much of a hard time other than falling off.

I have been looking at this company Micro Superbikes as I am in Toowoomba and they only a couple of hours away. Models I am thinking of are the AGB 21 70cc and AGB 21F 125 which are the model that were recomended by the owner.

Any help/suggestion on bikes and also place to ride around Toowoomba/Darling Downs would be appreciated.

Hey mate, its awesome that you are getting your kids into riding.

For the boy a 70cc is a great suggestion, and maybe try the 110cc for your girl but there isn't really much of a difference between the 110cc and the 125cc its more about the money. I Doubt the girl will have that much trouble on a 125cc, all you've really gotta do is teach her how to ride it and she will be fine!

They seem pretty decent bikes, just take it slow and teach them how to ride properly and responsibly, or they will just destroy their bikes.

Have fun on your 250!

if it is her first bike the 110cc is semi auto so no clutch should be easier for her to learn on hope you all have fun on your new bikes!

hey, yeh i would say a 110 for the 10 yr old girl, the pitpro 110 seems decent for some1 around 10 plus it is pink im pretty sure. i would say a 70 or 80 for the 7 yr old. its awsome ur gettin ur kids in2 ridin, and hav heaps of fun on ur 250!

hey i just took a look, i wouldn't get a 70 for $899! lol, get mi 110, i am acutally thinkin of sellin it, its semi auto, lol.

Welcome MadDad, I'm new here myself, so I'm just getting familiar with the pitbike craze.

For what its worth, I took a 13yo friend out on a 125cc manual 4 speed yesterday. She has never been riding before, and she was riding well, changing up and down gears after a couple of hours.

Depends on her learning curve, but if ya daughter is a bright kid and eager, then you could consider a 125cc manual, as she'll eventually be stepping up to a manual anyway. Plus the bike can be passed on to your son later too.

My 2c worth.

Thanks for the replies.

I am certainly hoping to hand both bikes down as the kids get older and more experienced. I also have a 3yo daughter who will no doubt not be happy being left behind for long.

The bikes are certainly cheap enough to go for a 110 then upgrade to a 125 later, however I think that once the young bloke develops beyond the 70, a 110 auto may not be enough of a challenge and he may be ready to go to a manual.

The specs on the AGB 21F say its manual or auto, would that be selectable or just an ordering option?

I am also fortunate that we live on an acre so there is plenty of room to ride around and practice b4 hitting the trails.

yeh 110cc pipro and a 70cc atomik or somthin should be mad for the little ones
