Maintenance

Just wondering who maintains their bikes ... if at all.

I get the impression alot of pitty owners run their bikes into the ground. I've had bikes before with little or no maintenance from the previous owner.

The rear shock on my pitty failed and a few other bits, due to little or lack of maintenance.

i wash my bike after every ride, check all the usual areas that go loose, tighten all the loose things, change the oil after evry 10 hours of riding and do a few other bits and pieces...

i don't wash my bike... but every part on it alwayz works to it's full extent or i replace it. every thing is alwayz tight Ie Throttle/bolts etc & she get's a full service from time to time

i service all my bikes,the main thing i do is i wash an re-oil my yz's air filter after every second ride i dont clean my bike after every ride but they get a wash after a few rides
on my pitty i check for loose bolts an give it a good look to see if every think is ok every second or third ride but since i changed all my bolts on my pitty to high tensile an stainless steel with loctite none of the bolts are ever loose
an the major thing i do with the pitty is change the oil after 7-10 hours use

I try and maintain my bike as much as possible, keep it in tip top condition. Even though nothing really ever goes wrong or really needs to be service.. I usually find myself cleaning the dirt off the seat after a ride at the track.

lol i hardly maintain my bike i havent washed it in a while.. caked in mud lol.. but riding through puddles kinda helps lol yh i only really lube the chain change the oil and change bolts if needed

haha i wash my bike after every ride....check all bolts, check spokes, oil chain, and try to improve things that need improvement
if i didnt do this i would be scared that it would fall apart while im riding lol

i don't maintain my bike as much but i don't ride it as much as i would like to.. i can't be stuffed paying for some new oil cos mi bike ain't worth payin $19 for! lol.

I don't get people who don't maintain their bikes, there's no point in having one if you just let it turn to ****. I do work on my bike after every ride, wash it down, make sure nonthing's broken, lube the chain ect.

I lok after mine, well i try. clean air filter every 2nd sometimes 1st ride and change oil every 10 hours or so. clean it after every ride and after every 3rd or fourth clean out the carbie. Its still goin strong so i must be dong somthing right.

i do maintain mi bike, but the **** quality kinda ruins the whole poit! i was mi bike after every ride, check for loose nust, bolts etc. if i hear something or notice something wrong during the ride i ix it etc. change the oil very now and then but don't get 2 ride it much these days...

You gotta maintain ya bike, thats half the fun. I used to ride a ttr 125 lrg wheel, and never did much but change oil, air filter clean. Since this bike the quality isnt as good as a yamaha so I maintain it to the best of my abbilities (and mi mates when i need help [avenger125]) and i have so much more experiance and knowledge due to thins f'in up here nd there
oh yeh, i ride a dhz 138cc oil cooler bike. Not dissin it, its fkn rad
