Hi all,
I've heard there could be talk of a mini-motard setup at the Mallala circuit in Adelaide.
Does anyone know about this? If there is a scene here, I'd love to get involved but so-far not having much luck finding anyone that rides mini-motards here (in Adelaide).

mate there was mention of it somewhere in the "Riding Spots" section... something about a track at Pooraka, but i think it's shut down... Port gawler does have a wee drift/motard track, but i dont know if they still allow it to be used..

the go kart track at pooraka is still open, they also race pocket bikes there

as for pt gawler and their track, on weekends its mostly karts

saying that i would ring both and ask whats the deal with mini motard

I've rang the pooraka place (research road?) and no, they don't allow mini motards.

ive been doing some reading on this mini motard stuff. ive had my pitty for about 3 years now and have always enjoyed setting up a track on flat ground aand going nuts so this would suit me well i think. i havnt found anything at all about racing in SA. have we tried pt gawler? if not what about the RC car track at littlehampton???

I heard Pt gawler is a no go, because the kart owners like their track perfectly smooth. If a bike has an off, the case, pegs etc.. can damage track. A bit frustrating, but I guess that's fair enough. I've got two mates with mini bikes and they are also pretty keen to fit some motard rims and have some fun! Apparently a mini motard (140cc) did a track day at Mallala (full circuit) and did okay. I wouln't mind doing that, but wouldn't really like to be out there on the straight with bikes going past at 200+km/h.
Eeek!

ive got a set of 12 inch motard wheels to unload if anyone in adelaide is interested?

ive riden at pt gawler several times when the track has been quiet and jonny hasnt said anything.he has even been out there watchin us cut laps.if you pay you can play i reckon

I've rang around, Port Gawler kart track can't get the insurance, and the place at pooraka said no. However, I've recently heard that the track out at Tailem Bend is having a full motard this weekend, and if there's enough mini-motard, they'll happily accommodate for them. I also beleive that it will be proper motard, and eventually include a bit off off road stuff and then back onto tarmac. I'm quietly very excited and plan to get out there have a look and hopefully go shopping.
