Hi. I'm new to this forum and could use some help.

I bought my son a 49cc 2 stroke minibike for Christmas from the bike shop.
It ran fine until the last two times we used it.
It began idling very rough and would then stall & not restart.
After the bike sat for a while, I could restart it, but the same thing would happen.... Rough idle then stall out.

I contacted the company who was of little help.
I changed the spark plug, air filter, cleaned carburetor, and put new fuel mixture in the bike.

Now the bike does not even attempt to start. When I pull the starter, there's nothing. Any suggestions as to how to fix this?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Pull the plug out, and rest the bottom on the head of the motor watch it and pull the cord there should be a strong spark..
also find a ngk equivalent of the plug that im sure my67xr already has in the back of his mind and will post it before i go research it :p

NGK BM6A is the plug you'll need

i would guess that the carby is still blocked up.
underneath on the base of the carby, did you check the main jet is clean?
can you see through it ?
have you taken the fuel bowl drain screw out to check there is fuel getting though to it carb?

how old is your fuel and what ratio are you mixing it? litres/mls

cheers, craig

I did not take carb completely off the bike. I took air filter off & sprayed it all with cleaner.
The fuel is mixed by adding gas to a provided container to the 576 mark, then adding the oil to the 600 mark.

Pull it off, take the jets out and look through them its quite easy just dont bend the float or anything while you are in there.. that is most likley the problem.
That is how a carby is cleaned. never used the spray cleaner in my life and never will.. Its comically a good solution for maybe a simple mower or something like that but not a bike..
