i was recomonded by a friend in the motorbike buisness and a firend of a friend to buy a Moto Vert there is one in a raffel at my footy club that i am hopin to win but if i dont win were can i get one, another thign would u guys recomend gettin a cr80 ( two stroke) instead of a pit bike coz mum will help me buy the cr80 if i want to get it

ay,

get the cr80..got way more power than any thumpstar. you will have more fun with band on a 2stroke aswell.

and hed have alot of hassles the first time he tears it down, pulling a 2st watercooled motor apart for the first time can be daunting and a pain in the ass

if you want speed, a bit of air here and there, and some nasty injuries when you fall then get a CR80, big wheel if your a big fella

if you want to screw around with the engine, throw it around like a ragdoll, and make up some stupid ass stunts then get a pitbike

if its your first bike id get a pitty, itll take you alot longer to get confidence up on a CR80 than a pitbike, my 2cents

pitty by far... rebuilding a two stroke 2 months after you have bought it is a pain in the as, i bought a kx80 for my first bike, was a good by till it needed a rebuild a month or two after i got it... took me alot getting used to when the power cuts in and how hard it will hit you, a pitty will do no suck thing but still have more than enough power for a beginner

pitbikes are for the fun factor, when ever u ride one the smile on peopels face is priceless.

How old are you?

Not being rude ..This will simply help me to choose the better one for you.....

im 14 i have riden a 2 sroke kx 80 and it scared the **** outa me coz it was only like the 3rd time i had riden but yeah

Go the moto vert. As sum1 sed you will be pushing it to its limits a few days afta u get it, alot more fun ringing its neck than being scared of the throttle!

Get the CR80, you will become a better rider quicker.

Replacing a top end on a 2 stroke costs next to nothing and if you have half a clue you can do it yourself. When the motor lets go on your pitbike 4 strokes are even more expensive to rebuild.

The Honda also has a much better build quality.

$20 for ringz, $40 for a piston... re hone it myself

as aposed to $100 for the kit (piston, ringz, sealz... etc) and most times you might have to go up in size cuz the piston which **** itself scored the bore and you have to get it resleved...

in the case of chinese thumpstarz if worst comes to worst you can replace the engine for what? $200...

all round cheap, dont have to worry if you scratch the thing because it didnt cost you a mint!!!

He's talking about getting a Moto Vert which costs $3k+ for the better models, so it's not a cheap bike like what you probably have.

Get the CR80 champ, stay on it.

The only issue with a CR is noise... lots of very annoying noise.... your neighbours will hate you and your unlikely to get away with riding it anywhere other than an MX track...

At least the pitbikes can be quietened down fairly easily if need be...

No way, don't bother with a pit bike. They break way to much if you abuse them, like most things from china.

A CR80 will cop much more punishment, a **** load faster and rebuilding a 2 stroke is a piece of pie after you have done it once.

Parts are much more readily available for a CR and nearly every workshop will work on it if you arent confident.

hey man i have a thumpstar and most days i wish i had a cr125 of yz 125 and got a older model and payed the extra cash. but i think get a cr80. good quality and for the noise they will get over it. i say 2 stoke cr80 is heeps fun and it is not hard 2 learn how to ride. just go steady for a while hey. the pit bike will get boaring some times if your mates have 85's. But the other thing i think is if you 14 your likely to need to upgrade in a year or something and get a 125. i had a cr80 2000 model and wanted to upgrade to 125 then i sold it and i got to keep the extra cash so i just got a thumpstar. but i think you really should get a cr80 and dont listen to what there people have 2 say about pit bikes. when your older (18) and have a job and a bigger bike like a crf450 or a kx250f get a pit bike aswell (cheep 1k one) and then it will be fun the thrash around with friends, because quiet frankly it would be quiet hard for a 14 year old boy to do engine mods and stuff on a pit bike.
