Hi guys,

I'm new to this forum and need some expert advice on which bike is better the motovert expert 140 or the pitster pro x2 140. The motovert expert 140 costs around $1500 and the pitster pro x2 140 around $900. Based on the prices, would appreciate if anyone can provide any advice on which bike to choose. Thanks guys.

I own the epxert 140. Never skipped a beat for me. Not sure about the x2. Gotta be some major differences for that price difference although motoverts are a bit on the expensive side now days.

I would be looking at things like what suspension they are running.

the pitster x2 has a dnm rear suspension and moto front suspension
the motovert has elka rear and the front is "Adjustable upside front forks: 750mm USD front forks, 8” travel, Adjustable compression and rebound in each fork leg" (taken from website)
Slightly larger frame for the motovert.
I don't race but I just want a bike that's reliable and the parts doesn't fall off easily.
Anyway thanks motorman

Go the vert then for sure. The x2 won't have anywhere near as good suspension and you will just have to pay for it down the track which will work out dearer. Elka shocks are the shiz.

where you getting your prices from dude, or are these secondhand bikes you are talking about...
X2 140r is $1800 with GPX forks and DNM rear shock.. awesome setup
the motovert is pretty much the same setup

is the motovert a 10"er tho? lol they're completely different type of bike
x2r's are going hot on ebay for around $900.... bloody good deal

IMO motoverts are overpriced and you could get a better bike for much less easily

The expert is a 12er! And from memory the forks arent adjustable! "The ones in motorbike city arent" The expert has nice shiny Marzocchi stickers! If you want to stay with them brands just save up a couple of hundred and get an X4R if u dont care about the name there are good lxr copies out there!

I would take an Elka shock over a DNM anyday of the week. The absolutely kill them in performance.

They are the same size bike.

If the vert does have Marzhocci front end and elka back for an extra $700, that's a pretty good deal in my book. :coolthumb:

I'm guessing he may be talking 2nd hand bikes.

sean - i got these prices off ebay and they're brand new bikes. The motovert doesn't have Marzhocci front suspension but it has elka rear. thanks anyway guys for your input.

yeah id like to see some links for reference

Far out. Bloody pessamists!!

Take it from someone that has been around verts a long time.

You can option anything you like on the verts. May not be on the site but when you are in the store you can ask for whatever you want to put on the bike before purchasing.

Stock they don't come with one unless it has changed this year.

yeah i know what ya saying motorman, not doubting you for a second.
but being that its on ebay and at the price he said it sounds weird cause 2700 or wat ever is the store price...
i just had a search thru ebay and couldnt find a new motovert expert and the only X2r's are on bid only..

and if the motovert is secondhand then what we say means nothing cause the condition is unknown.

i see, its an ended item. no wonder i couldnt search it..

anyways, thats a pissa of a deal. specially since its a crf70 model.

did you buy it already or waiting for another to roll on..

yeah i bought it already. there were only 2 on auction the other day. so i quickly bidded for it first, won the auction and then started to think if it was a good deal. hahahah. at least now i know.

The expert is somewhat outdated compared to the Pro. Well they are both outdated not running linkage.

You picked up a ripper deal. And to think I was trying to sell mine 2nd hand a year ago for $1400 and no one wanted it.
