Hey!

Just wondering if the oil capacity stated in the motovert hand book is correct?
It says 0.6L (600ml) which in my bike does not even show up half way on the dip stick level.
My bike is a 140cc motovert expert.

Any help is appreciated.

cheers

ive heard 900 is a good amount, if you go by the dipstick like i usually do you wont know how much exactly there is in there... but you will know that its correct

cheers

dose the bike has one of the billet dipsticks?

if that the case fill it so it on the 2nd mark from the bottom (when u check the oil u dont wind the dipstick in)

Hey,

Thanks for the replies.

Yeah I figured it was not enough, considering my Lifan 150cc takes almost 1L.

Yeah its a billet alloy dipstick, anodized red so its difficult to see the level lol.

So you fill it to the second line on the stick without screwing it in? do you apply any pressure to the dipstick at all or just sit it in?

cheers

sit it in the filler hole, dont screw it in or else you will get an in accurate reading, second (high line) indicates its full! dont go past this point, first line (low line) indicates its getting low (all engines will burn/use a small amount of oil dont worry about this too much its normal) dont let it go under this indication. if its in between and you dont have any oil on you it should be ok but keep any eye on it and dont let it get too low

cheers

not pressure jst like push it in there until it bottems out on the casers(like u put it in there jst b4 u screw it in)

the motovert dipsticks dont got high marks low marks. they look like this
dipstick.jpg

(mind my good pic i made)
see how it is broken up into little parts ( u no wat i mean cos u got your own) fill it up to the second on from the bottom

Thanks for your help guys:D

Ive also got small portions of oil leaking from the top of the motor near the valves. I think its a faulty gasket underneath the anodized motovert dress up plate.

Could I get a new one under warranty? I believe that's the problem as tightening the dome nuts on the end has not effected the slow leak.

cheers

undo the nut clean it and clean around where it screws into and it should be fine. at worse u need a new o-ring
