Thought I'd post up my new riding toy, my phone! Along with water I believe its the most important thing to have on you whilst riding, especially if your on your own! Its very easy to get lost or become stranded when your riding and a mobile phone can come in very handy especially if you have find my friend or phone apps.

I also use Cyclemeter you can buy it from your app store, I'm sure there would be an Android equivalent. Its fantastic for trail riding you can see where you've been, how fast you've gone, average speed and lots lots more. Most important you can find exactly where you are and how you got there!

Lots of us have had some hairy moments out in the bush on our bikes, and most of us can tell you we were un prepared, being unprepared sucks and can be dangerous! So be smart and take some precautions and necessary equipment when your riding!

Feel free to add your advice on necessittys for riding.

First things first, always tell someone where you are going riding;)

that was a pretty good ride (2nd pic). it was good to see how far we rode, how long it took and top and average speeds. great idea i say.

I cannot go bush without my Camel Back.

Absolute necessity IMO.

well done mate that's awesome im gonna see if android has something like it.

If your silly enough to strap your phone to your hangers like me HUD is a good app too! :) it's in the first pic...

It's kinda cool because it can mirror itself so you can put it on your dash and see it on your windscreen.

must haves for the jammo :
* water
* bag with tools ! ( my bike breaks alot )
* deck of smokes + LIGHTER ! for when i want to stop and kick back
* spare socks for when it gets wet

Hey mate great idea, just wondering what you use to tie your phone down? i have an iPhone, is there a special clip cover?

Ive got a Handheld GPS which has a bike handbar mount , you'll see it in my 50 bush ride video Hillz posted up .. I know the bush area we ride rather well but we have got lost out there once on the 50's .. I dont ride without the GPS when we hit the trails now. most of the time its just on speed and distance page but if we need to got to a location i set the way point and we ride in that general direction as the tracks we ride arent even marked on maps or GPS maps

I did see that in your vid before bud. Their a top idea! Running out of fuel cause your lost and having to walk home sucks.

It's a bit of a dodgy set up really, when I switched hangers over the tag risers only have one bolt instead of two so I decided to use the spare hole for my original rises and then zip tie the belt bracket that came with the phone case to the original risers. So now the phone clips to the risers, my phone case has a really hard plastic inner case with a rubber outer so I also zip tie my phone to the belt clip for added security!

Dodgy as hell but works a treat! Still I probably should find out if its covered in my home n contents! :)
