My Engines About To Die!!

I have a broken leg at the moment so i havnt riden for 5 weeks i went to start my thumpstar and it was bee'n a bitch it finaly started and was runnen like **** spluttreing and backfireing and after bout 5mins smoke started coming off the head! is my engine rooted? whats wrong??

sounds like you have a small oil leak, or could be other residue smoking on the head. Nip up all bolts on the motor to ensure that none are loose. Check your plug for the spluttering issue.

it shure is! why dont you see many around is it because their all dead or didnt they sell many? i now of only one guy who has the same bike

Start fresh before you go pulling the motor upart. e.g fresh fuel, new spark plug, clean airfilter, clean oil ect. The prob may be as simple as a blown headgasket.

did u refill the bike with fresh fuel? fuels goes off after a while. if u left it in there, and then started it, thats probly ur problem. it could have even clogged up the jets. as for the smoke, it could have been dust or something when the bike got hot. maybe dust on the header of the exhaust even. hope this helps. get well soon buddy. 5 weeks is a long tym 2 be off a mini.

5 weeks for fuel to go bad and block jets , bah not likely

yeah. prob not block the jets. thats for when it is left for lyk 5 years. but fuels goes off. and doesent perform well. sum guy from a moto shop told me that fuel that is over a week old is off or 'stale'. it still burns, but not well. there coulda been condensation in the tank. water is heavier than fuel and sinks 2 da bottom!! lots of ways things can happen.
