My pitpro wont go up gears

hey all, ive got a pitpro yx150 engine i cant get it to go up gears
ive taken the casing off and if i use a screwdriver to push the star round i can go up gears but without that i cant get the lever to do it. once up gears i can use the lever to go down.
someone please help !

not usually likely to happen but check to make sure your gear lever isnt hitting the magneto case..

other than tht you may have a bent gear lever shaft or the gear lever mech is worn..

maybe shoot some pics up of the gear drum and lever mech in action

i might try buy a new gear lever shaft tomorow and fit it
you know how where the doodad turns the gear star it just wont take it far enough to click over into gear

try turning the sprocket at the same time.

yeah ya cant be trying to do this without turning the engine over at the same time..

i have tried. and failed, maybe having the chain on and rolling down the street and try click it up?

leave the chain on but have the bike in the air on a crate or stand and just rock the back wheel back and forward while clicking up.
