my z50

hey everyone, i was wondering whether you guys could give me some advice. i have a honda z50j 1976 and i has been sitting in my garage for just under 5 years the other day i did a service on it i changed the oil, petrol,spark plug and i then cleaned out the carbi. then i attempted to start it and nothing it didnt even sound like it was going to start.
Any advice would be great.

Spark, fuel, air. All they need to run

being that old that id be inclined to say the points are in need of attention..

but yeah as terry has pointed out above..

check for spark at the plug then move along till you are confident you are also getting fuel and good compression on kick..

if compression seems a little low, reset the valve clearance and see if it improves..
