Hey guys I have a thumpstar couple of years old few mod, High rev cdi, upgraded swing arms etc etc.

I need to buy a new engine as I blew up my 125cc engine.

I want to spend anywhere from $400 - $600 for a new engine and exhaust.

I will not mod it up much more than stock - So ive been looking at the Lifan 140cc off ebay and for the price they seem to be ok - Also the following exshaust.

NEW OUTLAW 140CC LIFAN OIL COOLED ENGINE, 1P55FMJ - eBay Other Makes, Bike Parts, Motorcycle Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 15-Jun-08 20:00:00 AEST)

Deep sound Alloy High Performance Exhaust 125cc 140cc - eBay Other Makes, Bike Parts, Motorcycle Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 15-Jun-08 20:23:19 AEST)

Im fairly new to this my questions are:

1. Will this exshaust fit?
2. Are there a better engine? exhaust out there for my budget? around $400 - $600?
3. Does this engine come with everything I will need to just bolt it in? what about gearbox etc?.
4. I just need a little bit of a point in the right way as to what combination of engine and exshaust are the best bang for buck - and anything else I should look out for so I dont buy something I regrett.
5. How much quicker will the 140cc be than the 125cc?

Thanks guys

Apreciate any help

Mitchell

The guy selling that exhaust is on this site, and has a current thread, advertising it, ask him maybe ?

so ive done a bit of research-

I think I should buy the lifan 140cc off DHZ - who has the enigines? as stock do they **** on 125cc?

I am going to get a upgrade carby and exhaust

The Lifan 140cc is a great motor but I would only pay $250-$350 for one. The all up gear pattern is better than the 1 down 3 up. Another alternative is the Lifan 150cc or the YX 150cc which sell anywhere from $400-$600 and I have heard alot of goods things about the Lifan 150.

As for your question about an exhaust, I wouldnt get the one in that link as it is just a cheap setup and its only 28mm. There are 32mm pipes with that same muffler for the same price on ebay and there are a few ebay sellers that have good 32mm pipes but prices start from about $90.

A good carby to match the engine is a must and will be money well spent. You can go with the standard carbies such as a 28mm Molket or a Mikuni but a 28mm OKO flatslide is a better option but its a little more expensive.

to be honest, buy a GPX 125, get a 146 kit for it, and buy a cheap 32mm exhaust for it.

i have a procircuit T-4 and its sexy, cost me a bit though :)
