hi guys and girls,

I have another problem with my bike. well yesterday after coming back from riding i was unsatisfied with how far i had to push down for my rear brakes to lock. i only bought a new rear brake setup so i thought that they may just need bleeding. so thats what i tried to do.

i attached a little hose onto the bleeder valve and put it in a little jar with some brake fluid in it so it wouldn't draw more air into it. next i pumped up a little pressure and just cracked the valve, then tightened it and again pumped it. etc.

i did this numerous times and still had no gain, was just about ready to take it to a motorbike shop and then decided to try once more. this is where my trouble is. i went to pump it and the lever goes all the way down and i can't fix it.

i have tried pumping the old fluid out and putting new fluid in, injecting brake fluid into the brake line via the bleeder valve but still nothing.

Guys i need you help cause i can't race without my back brakes working. is it possible that i have blown a seal, i didn't think so cause no oil drips out the bottom.

has this happened to anyone else on miniriders, also i have checked through other posts and forums.

Thanks
Callan

Try taking the caliper off and squeezing the piston back, use a g clamp if your fingers arn't strong enough.

come on somebodies got to know whats wrong with it, i know i'm impatient but if you could understand how pissed off i am.

Ill have another go. My pushrod (the rod from the pedal to the master cylinder) is not aligned real well (cheap chineese bike) and if yours is the same its possible that it is jammed in the master cylinder. Try detaching it from the brake pedal and give it a wiggle and see if it pulls out. Just a geuss but worth a try.

On the bottom of the master cylinder there is a locknut and the end which attaches to the pedal is adjustable.Make it as LONG as you can then bleed the system.Allow the brake to be partially engaged. As the pads bed in it will gain freeplay.I have to set them all up like that. The pads will wear out very fast coz the composition of the chinese brake pads is very soft. Then try to put in some SBS pads and you shouldnt have the problems anymore. If there is no visible fluid loss i dare say you just need to adjust it as far as you can.Good luck, let us know how you go :)
