Hi all,
After mucking around building my own bike, my 5 year old has been bitten by the bike bug and has been hassling me to get him a "kid bike". Well on her way home from work, my wife found a mini bike on a rubbish pile out the front of some ones house. I threw it in the car and took it home expecting a massive pile of rusted out ****. I was wrong. Turns out its a pretty clean 2013 model (according to the serial number). Ill be trying to get it started this weekend. My questions are:
1) Is there a way to check that its not stolen (I would hate to have someones kids pride and joy.
2)Whats the best place to get parts? It has the model number as DB-1
3)Is there a way I can restrict the throttle for the little fella until he is confident?
Cheers
Dan

Hi Dan welcome to Miniriders.....

Short of going to your local police department and running the serial numbers, I'm going to say no. You could check the local papers and such for "stolen" ad's too I suppose.

eBay is you friend with sourcing the usual replacement parts with any China and most Jap mini's. Specific parts can be found at online specialists that are easily located using Google.

As for governing the throttle, there are plenty of ways to do that. My personal favourite is "the old fuel line in the carby" setup... Super easy, super quick and cheap as. Here's a quick vid to demonstrate.
