Hi guys, iv been reading about the forum for a few weeks now and iv decided im gonna buy a pit bike. Im pretty new to riding bikes and want a pretty much full sized bike for just trail riding and i only wanna spend 1200-1500 on my first one. My question is would a 250cc be big enough to ride like a normal dirt bike and also how long does 5l tank take to run out, Please no bagging out the bike, i know they are cheap and **** but like i said i am new and want something to learn on. This is the one im considering

eBay Australia: NEW 250CC TOMAHAWK G4 HUMMER pit dirt trail motor bike (item 230147338876, end time 02-Jul-07 19:45:00 AEST)

Seat height is 9700mm.

PITPRO

One of these guys would be much better than the Tomahawk thing you were thinking about mate. Other wise look out for a second hand jap bike too, like Pittin said, it will be quicker and will be a reliable bike too. The Pitpro's are good bikes straight off the shelf though for the price... Have fun!

Whats the size of these pitpros. Im only 5'9. I want one thats fullsize and feels like a normal bike.

"EDIT" The pitros look alot better, and i would feel safer buying it from a shop with a proper warranty then off ebay. Does anyone have a picture of a person standing next to a 250cc bike so i can see the size ratio. Also about the 5l tank. How long do they usually last?

Mate i wouldnt bother with any china full size cause no one has had anything but troubles with them, Just imagine a pitbike, With twice the weight, more speed and the same amount spent on somthing with more steel? just doesnt seem very safe to me. Id try and stay away from them.

5l should last a while, it rlly depends what gear u ride in, the lower the gear the more consumption. i would think atleast a few hours but hav never ridden a 250...
cheers

ehhhhh wrong, Its the revvs not what gear you are in silly, You can be at 7000rpm in first all day and you could be at 3000 in fifth and youll use more in first.....

duhh, and is lower gears that rev harder!
that's y they use more fuel in lower gears, doesn't take a genious to figure it out....

How far you twist your throttle regulates how much fuel is being used (full throttle in a low gear will use more fuel than half throttle in a high gear, full throttle in any gear uses the same amount of fuel just enging revs and speed will differ).

A full tank will wear you out before it runs out if you are hooking in.

Buy a second hand jap bike.

Wth its got nothing to do with your gears, But i will not stoop down to your level of stupidity so lets end this now.

Maybe you rev it heaps in the lower gears, but I rev it heaps in all the gears.

i don't rev mi bke 2 hard, just generally speaking that if u r riding in a lower gear ur bike comsumes more fuel, ask a moto mechanic or some1 like that...
