Hi guys and girls,

Im Mike from sydney. I've been browsing around the forums for a week or so now... initially i was keen on getting a pocket bike as my friend had purchased one on ebay, but ive decided to spend a few extra hudnred and get me a mini bike instead :)

I've been wanting one since I was a little kid (19 now) just to buzz around the streets... no jumping in mind at this stage.

I've read through all the reviews in the review section as to what bike to get, but i'm still quite confused.

If you guys could help a brother out that would be great. Basically i'm happy to buy off eBay as I know this is the cheapest way for me. At this stage, my budget is about $700... Unless there is something magnificant for a little bit over 700.

125/140/250cc seems the go here, although I very much doubt i'm going to get a 250 for < 700. Atomik seems fairly good in your books. I've checked out their website too.

Lastly, i'd prefer something without those tiny 14/12 wheels - maybe the 17/14 or the 19/16 which I think i've seen around (can't remember).

Also, I read something on this forum that these chinese bikes with bigger wheels are causing alot of problems at the moment because this is fairly new to them? is this true? or was this person referring to bigger chinese bikes, not bigger wheels  ?

Anyway hope you guys can offer a little bit of assistance so I can start pissing my neighbours off asap :p

Regards,
Mike
Syd

P.s. So sorry if there are beginners asking this same question everyday...

atomik! 125cc big wheel 17/14 on ebay maby one of them i have a proX and goes very good and im just learning or u can go the 150cc big wheel witch has 17/14 again cya

Big wheels suck IMO and look way out of proportion. Get a 12" 12" or a 12" 14" max if you want a mini bike.

yeh get a mso x6r or x7r there beter than a pro x

i dont know... i rkn the 12/12 or the 14/12 look a bit too tinty... anyhow do the bigger rims have any other downside (besides looks)?

where can i get more info about the MSO's?

cheers

also, waht exactly is a Thumpstar? And what are the genuine thumpstars and copies? all ebay bikes seem to say thumpstar on them... they can all be thumpstars can they?

yeh there are genunine thumpstars there not made anymore

thankx.

listen, if i am looking at just cruising around the block, no dirt jumping (at this stage anyway :p), will the prox do the job? so basically no hardcore riding (except pulling a few wheelies here n there).

also what things am i intially going to have to do when the bike arrives? somebody mentioned something about loctie and tightening the bolts ................. ?

the Pro-X is a good bike for anything...... it will suit the first time rider or even the advanced pro (with a bit of TLC)

Genuine thumpstars do exist they just have a new name. They are now sold as terra motos and cost big $$$$. Most bikes sold as thumpstars are just generic pit bikes which were copys of old thumpstars some are crap and some are less crap.

The MSO bikes are very good value and the advertised stats are 100 percent correct (a lot of ebay sellers are not that honest when it comes to statistics and dont have a full list of stats so that you can compare). They also have cheap delivery so if you find a bike on ebay for $100 less it will probably end up costing the same once delivey is included. MSO equals happy customer IMO.

i know the manager of a factory over in china that makes GENUINE thumpsters, they are over 3 grand new.. and they hav very few stores in AUS
