Okay, I've found a small shop in norway that sells various engines, they have a ready to bolt in Lifan 140cc with 26mm mikuni carb, cdi and oil-cooler, and they want the equivalent of 850 oz dollars for it delivered to my door. is this a rip-off? I have a feeling that the prices on pitbikes and parts are off the hook in norway, a genuine pitpro with a 115cc daytona engine would set me back 5800 dollars...

this is actual prices that I would have to pay, I've converted them into aussie currency. pitbikes are a really deep underground thing here, In my group there are only 4 people that meet and ride on a regular basis. the few dealers that exists take advantage of the fact that non here have any knowledge of what pitbikes actually are worth. I paid something like 900$ for my loncin, and that's considered a bargain in norway!!

id email some of our store's and ask about shipping

or like no-crf said hook up a chinny on a fishing line and make some coin

but daM THATS EXPENCIVE

I thought so, I can get a '06 crf450 for about 6000$, no way I'm paying close to 5 big ones for a pitpro, I really want to build my own bike with decent parts from scratch, but the insane import-taxes make that even more expensive...

You seem to be paying well over the odds in Norway when comared with Australian prices

One thing you might check out though, is what sort of import tarriffs your government levies against imported motorcycles from China.

Many European countries do this to protect their own motor industries from cheap foreign imports. We on the other hand only pay a small amount of duty on most Chinese imports into Aus.

Norway have almost no motor-industri, don't know why the import taxes are so high either, but everything related to dirtbikes are expensive here, but especially pitbikes. I dream of moving to another country, maybe OZ....
