Just got an oko 30mm carb for my ya 160. I need an adaptor to suit my manifold as it has a rubber tube that clamps to the manifold where mine is screw type. Where do I get the adaptor or a new manifold that fits? Anyone know, or done this upgrade?

Thanks mate!

just check with dhz first to make sure it will fit maybe just measure the manifold side of the carb first see what the overall diameter is and ring dhz to double check the carb will slide inside the adapter

That will work. Uses the exact same manifold as the OKO 26mm. TB one fits too if you want to burn some cash!

Thanks for that mate didn't wanna lead him down the wrong path better safe than sorry :)

I made my own adaptor on a lathe cam out sweet but I'm still not port matched. I'm going from 30mm to 26mm still which will give air flow restriction. I've been lookin online an I still carnt find a intake manifold th suit my bike. Surly there's gotta be one some where. Or do you have to make ya own? Has anyone else out there done a carby upgrade and manifold on a yx 160cc? After I get one ill port and polish head to match it all up!

I havent came across a 30mm diameter manifold before ... may i ask why you want to run a 30mm carb on a 160cc yx ?? bigger isn't always better ... a 30mm carb on a yx 160 will ruin all your bottom end power and probably be a real pain to tune too thats if you can ever get it 100%.

on that particular motor a 26mm is a great size

I got it cheap from a mate new in the box. I swaped it out for my mikuni 26mm as it was making the bike splatter I tried all needle setting and it made it no better. Tri exact same carb again and it did the same thing. Both running 20 pilot and 100 main. Just dided after splattering past 1/4 throttle. Put the oko and revs great below half throttle than splatters. Carnt run it for long though as exhaust glows red hot

Sounds to me like theres an air leak somewhere or another problem unrelated to the carby if you have tried a few different ones and getting similar results a 30mm is way big for the 160

There seems to alot of conflicting opinions on me using this carb. Sean at small wheels says it will work fine and the bloke at dragin bikes says they work fine. So is there a indepth reason why not to use the carby? I have new head gasket, no leeks from manifold, reseated valves, changed ignition to ork. And still splatters a little at half throttle. Workin better with 30 oko maybe get a new needle to see if it fixes it up. I am no mechanic and dont work on bikes, just cars alot but I'm mechanically minded and am always willing to learn something new so if ya got any opinions please post them

It will work fine but ive had plenty of bikes and different setups and without getting technical a 30mm carb on a 160 when you have it dialled in mightn't have the bottom end torque / grunt that you will get from a 26mm you might grab a little top-end with a 30mm but you'll destroy any bottom end power it ever had.. i know what works and what has been tried and tested with many blokes with 160's .. you loose air velocity at low rpms with a bigger carb As the carburetors airflow is increased the carburetor will begin to lose it's ability to properly mix the air and fuel together at lower engine rpm...

I ran a 26mm flatside oko on my 160 it was a perfect balance of bottom end and top end ..

Now ive got a Daytona anima 4 valve 150f i ran a 26mm oko now a 28mm keihin and i did notice a slight decrease in bottom end power but mid / top is improved and thats only going up 2mm in carb bore size so i hate to think what going from an optimal 26mm to a 30mm will do to the bottom end power on the yx160

Thanks for ya reply. I like the more technical answers and ya got the nail on the head. I am gunna get a 184 big bore and a new head at some stage so I might put it aside till then. I still have a problem with the other 26mm mikuni. I was running a 20 pilot and 100 main with needle clip at bottom. The engine would splatter till 1/2 throttle then die. What gives then? I have tried 2carbs that are the same with varied needle clip heights. It's really doin my head in. So I back at square one with the bike irrrrrrrr! Any help?

I think you need a 22.5 or 25 pilot i run the same carb on my braaap YX150 with 22.5 pilot and you need to go to 102 on the main at leased because if the clip is on the bottom you need to go bigger thats why its missing its not getting enough fuel mate.
