Was just sittin here thinking about when i was 13yo and dad was teaching me to ride (thats the brake, thats the clutch, thats the throttle now off you go) and maintain motos and how now, 10 years later hes gone out and gotten himself a pitty so we can go trail riding again( i cant afford a big bike and he didnt want to risk stacking his BMW on the trails). Got me thinking how many 40+yo riders are on pittys now? Dad is 50 in december, now riding an Orian OV1 125cc (going by my ebay reserch lastnight, closest match i found). So any 'over the hill club' riders post back if only to let dad know he aint alone:p

my dad's 56 today, he gets around on a little 110cc (kiddie) quad... but he is wanting to upgrade to something bigger! as the pittes are too hard on his knees!

although he never taught me how to ride (i was up front on a bike when my brother decides to jump of and let me control it by myself) and we have never gone ridding as i would get so damn tired waiting up for the slow fart :p

Yea my old man has been riding for 45 years this year and hasn't ever been without a bike in that time and i got him a pitty about 4 months ago and i'll tell ya what i don't exactly wait around for him but he still manages to keep up alright.

the only reason i have to wait for dad is cause he is twice my weight, his bike is under geared and my zed is just too bloody fast lol. On the flip side tho Z50 suspension travel and lack of dampening in the rear make high speeds on rough tracks suicidle:eek:

My dad rode for 20 years when he was younger, now he's over 50 and is more into 4 wheel drives, wish he still did ride though, thatd be fun. :p

Sometimes he takes the pitty for a ride but thats about it haha.

maybe at the next ride day we should organise a seniors race:rolleyes: get more older riders into minis:p

My dad is 43 and still rides R1's...
Doubt he'll change to something like a harley for comfort for a while, he likes his speed! lol
Cheers.

lol good stuff:p
growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional

Exactly.....Feel the same as i was at high school[less hair],maybe a little stiff after a days riding, but all good.

It depends on what Harley too Pascal cause the ones with the ape hangers are really not that comfortable trust me my mate has a old fat boy.

and yes sidney they do get up to 1700cc but that doesn't mean anything.

They have loads of torque but the most powerful HD before the v-Rod was the sportster at 850cc and still a 250cc Aprilla road bike can beat it lol.

They are not as fast as people think, just loud but loud doesn't equal fast.

there the harley destroyers usually but there built for drag races
but then again the road ones are fast me and dad had one racing us when he owned a bmx 1000 it all depends on how there set up

yeh my old man rides a R1 and a harley

we go ridding all the time i have a boulevard M109

he has been on my pitty but loves the road more

he showed me how to ride from age 8...

lol my dads had a few goes of my pitty to he doesnt like it
he stacked it the first ride he had haha he jumped down a hill and went over the bars
was a funny day

Hahahaha. I could see it now, defibulator's between races. Drips hanging off bikes!! hahahaha. :p

I will be riding mini's and big bikes for as long as I'm physically able to!! Your only as old as you feel. Even then I will try and stick a motor in a wheel chair!!

My dads 54 I chucked him on the 50 afew times, he said he will stick to roadys. He got a big shock when he gave it to the little 50 haha.
