Hey all, just joined but full of questions!

The old faithful ct110 has just about given up after a pretty good life.

I want to do something a little different to just rebuilding or buying a new motor. I would love to swap in an outlaw 140cc as an advertisment i saw recently stated it suits ct110 postie bikes.

Has anyone undertaken this swap to date? And how do the 140cc engines go? I've heard they are quick, but are they reliable too?

Ultimately I love the wolf in sheeps clothing approach. Beating a few bigger bikes on the good old postie would be a hoot for sure!

i know someone with a ct70 "eichkay" had done a conversion... unsure weather it was a 140cc but i know it was siminlar (clutch etc in the same place) might help if you had a chat too him

The 110 postie has a different bolt pattern as in engine mounts, in fact they are nothing like the engines in pit bikes, completely different design.

Tanks for all the input. Found this on ebay Big Bore 140cc LIFAN Oil Cooled Engine for $299. Not bad but wondering what these motors are like?

I run a lifan 140cc outlaw and is the same ~MATT~ has ridden
all i can say is they are one tough little(well biggist on shelf)mother

grab one dude as u wont regret spending a measly 299 starting price(buy now for 445

if that bike is before 1995 your gunna have a few problems if you still want to run electrics, as the pre 1995 have a 6v system , bikes run a 12v system most likely on the chineese motors.
this can be overcome if you stip everything down to bare frame and rewire it for a 12v system , key switch , engine run switch should work with a 12v system , but your headlight and other related electrics will not run with a 12v system unless are rated for 12v.

my mate has a ct90 1976 model, doesnt run . its an electical night mare, i was thinking to put a 140cc or 125cc and rego it like ehkay has, ask him what he did for his ct70.

Yeah i heard somewhere I'll have to upgrade my electronics. Might do something about brakes too, could be wise.

The lifan might be a good idea then, waiting on a reply from another person about a big bore postie engine (160cc) as it might be easier, but don't know if it'll be as quick. Any one ever tested the top speed of thier pit bike? Would be interesed to know the top speeds of the various engines. Ultimately would love the ct to sit on 100kmh comfortably. Before she blew i could squeeze 95 downhill with a full aero tuck! Poor old engine was screeming though!

Lifans VS BIG BROTHER

I got my Lifan 125cc in. Runs excellent.

Whole thing came alive when I dropped in the IRK.

Now I have to get it through the whole registration/ADR nightmare.

I have been thinking about it today and I think I will get it through the process with the old Honda Motor in it.

So keep this whole registration thing in mind when you mod it. I have seen a couple of conversions on here that didn't look like they could be reversed in the event of the govt poking a nose in.

The VASS Engineer I was speaking to tells me even though the capacity change is a small one ( less than 15% ) that the same rules do not apply for bikes as cars and I will need a full ADR33/00.

hey man, I have got my postie pic's up I have put the same engine in mine. Does great but already broken the kickstarter
Decided to drop in a 140cc YX instead
