Hey Guys

I got a problem with my overflow on the carbi as soon as I turn the fuel cork to the on position the overflow will start leaking. So I tried leaving the fuel off then turn the bike over and letting it run out of full. But still when I turn it on it slow starts to come out. Is there any adjust ments on the carbi I can adjust to fix this? Could of changing the mixture and idle screw caused this? Also could someone tell me what the stock settings are on the carbi for the ide and mixture.

Thanks

you need to pull the carb apart

inside you will find the float , beneath that there is the needle and seat which acts as a tap, there is some crap in there allowing it to flow

now is also a good time to fit a fuel filter in the fuel line , you can get these small filters at most bike shops

had the same problem

hey dude had the same problem,
South Africa has extremely dirty petrol, under the float in the carb, the needle gets stuck with dirt best option is to strip the carb and clean it but incase of an emergency just tap the carb on the side this should free the needle, happens alot in South Africa

Thanks For the replys and your help. Looks like I will be pulling it apart sometime this week. Hopefully wont be to hard to put back together.

Naa you'll be right mate .

Clown no 1 South Africa ....are there elephants and shit where you ride and have you been chased by any ?

in your dreams, South Africa is like Oz same shit diffrent animals, man your a crack up, lived in a big city bout the size of Auckland, only animals your get are in the national parks, check out the thumpstar south africa website you'll see some pics were i raced, does anyone know how to modify the ducar motor to start while holding the clutch in?

would be awesome being chased by an elephant aye, would be such a buzz. hahaha but i always thought that question was a little far fetched, there not completly barbaric over there, living with the animals and shit hahaha.

about the starting in gear thing mine will already do it but tends to try and take off strait away dont know why or how but it does it

ya it would be cool, hahaha, just thought i might have a chance to modify something, it sucks when you wipe out and you have to try get your bike started in a hurry-trying to find neutral & stuff, so whats the roo's like been chased by any of them?

also check your float is working... with the fuel bowl off and the needle in the seat.. hold the float so the needle is closed and turn on the fuel and open and close the needle by pushing the float up. if the fuel dosent stop check that your float is set level...

pm me if you need a more detailed explantion of how to do this properly.

but check for dirt in the seat first.. then check that your needle isnt worn.. then you would check the float.

i can start my bike in any gear as long as the clutch is pulled in.

nar roos stay away stay away i think they shit when they hear us comen

poor bastards!!! sure is noisy when were around i think i might have scared a few jungle bunnies back in S. A. hehehe

Tried tapping to no avail and I'm not stripping a carb on a three week old pit bike "still under warranty" to fix a float valve problem. It's essentially a needle attached to a float like the reservoir of your toilet bowl. The needle becomes misaligned from it's hole and is "stuck open". Knowing something about car carburetors I decided to let gravity do the work. The bike is small enough to turn up like a bicycle on it's handlebars and saddle. Yes, upside down. That's the trick. If this doesn't work. your in it for the long haul. Prepare to strip your carb.

Hope this helps.
