Putting new chain on

I know to get the actual chain on around the cogs obviously, but how do I undo the connecting link and connect it again so I can connect the chain together? It says it's a rivet type.

a pair a pliers, pop the link off, then click it back on

Pull the master link off with a pair of pliers
