Hi all, I'm new to the mini scene and looking to buy my first mini motard :p

So far I've inspected Atomik (obviously junk), Dirtmax (looked to be high quality) and Assassin (looked to be very good value).

I have some questions about the different rear suspension styles.

The Dirtmax comes with an MX style swingarm while the Assassin comes with a crf50 style swing arm.

What are the pro and cons of each?

I am impressed with the suspension package that comes standard on the $1,250 RRP Assassin bike (Marzocchi forks & DNM rear shock), just not sure about the swingarm design.

Thanks for your input guys!

couldnt say iv noticed much of a difference between the both styles on the dirt..

regarding the"$1,250 RRP Assassin bike (Marzocchi forks & DNM rear shock)"
have you got a link for this bike to show us...
seems too good to be true with that suspension and only 1250...
be aware there are alot of bike shops selling knock off suspension and personally i doubt there even aware of it themselves, and if they are then there bad news..

hmm just noticed its a crazy pocket bikes bike....they dont have the best rep around here..

id be looking at one of DHZ's bikes and most likely youll have to raise your budget if 1250 is it..

and im pretty sure they run 12inch front and rear wheels as 14inch wheel isnt wide enough for decent tyre on the front..infact i dont think they even do a 14inch motard tyre

welcome to miniriders...

this assassin bike you talk off could not possibly have genuine marzocchi forks for that price

Yes i thought it seemed very good value (maybe not!).

Does anyone know what unique identification marks are on the Marzocchi forks?

I thought i read somewhere that the Marzocchi forks are now made in asia somewhere? Could these be the "genuine" asian version?

I'll go back with my camera and take some happy snaps :)

Thanks for your input guys!

lol, they will be genuine....genuine chinese copies...
i think most quality items like forks, shocks and aftermarket engine bits are made in taiwan

The claimed Marchozzi forks on the Assassin bike looked just like these forks on ebay. Claimed to be a similar RRP and were the same length (645mm).

What are genuine 645mm Marchozzi's supposed to be worth?

Cheers boys!

those forks in the last ink you sent are more than likely real marzocchi

going by the photos on here Assassin A10R 140CC 2009

can you confirm if thats the bike your talking about..

if so then theres no mention that the forks are actually marzocchi
the rear looks like a real DMN shock tho

No that bike pictured is aparently the previous model. They still had one, forks were not adjustable though. The bike looked similar to that model, only different tripple clamps and they had Marzocchi printed on them.

ok, still for that price, i very much doubt there genuine forks...
add up the items and see.
say 550 for forks
say 220 for rear shock
say 380 for 140 lifan
there not going to throw the rest of the bike in for nearly nothing...
obviously on a full bike purchase your not expected to pay full price for the items but still there would be no profit margin it for them...

but hey i could be completely wrong....wouldnt be the first time or the last...
im just baffled how they could build the bike with all that and make money

I can see what you're saying. I suppose it depends on how many forks they buy, if they buy enough units from the manufacturer, their cost price would be a lot less than what they sell for individually. Assassin clearly don't spend anything on marketing... lol.

It has me interested enough to go back to the shop for another look though.

they will be more than likely getting the bikes built in china so the forks would be on there before they land in oz.
wouldnt be worth there while to physically put these items on a new bike...specially at that price

Yep definitely, my last post read wrong. The bikes are crated with this set-up and like everything else i have seen so far, come from China.

I should have said "...if the company in China making these bikes buy enough units from the manufacturer..."

I'm going to try and get back to the shop today with my camera.
