im putting new oil in my usd forks an i want them a little more hard can i put 15-40 engine oil in???

how much mls to be harder?????

use fork oil, its not expencive... 15 weight should do the trick.


might also be an idea to shim the springs for more preload

if you stick some washers or 20 cent coins or what ever in between the fork cap and the spring, it will make the spring stiffer by giving it more preload. using a heavier fork oil will increase compression dampening, which is different.

should diagnose whats too soft (compression, preload, rebound) before making changes

well i allready drained them so i put some 15w engine oil in but ill put fork oil in them tomorrow thanks for the info guys

can some one show me a pic or some thing of putting in some washers cause there was a link on a post that showed pics but i cant find it
