i start my 05 model thumpstar in any gear sometimes, it jumps forward a little not much. is this doing my bike any good?

oh and today i was reving the heck outa it and i accidentally clicked it down into gear and it fliped and i broke the back white plastics.

gpx engines are notorious for jumping into gear, not saying they are a bad engine this just seems to happen to a lot of gpx engines ,i know of at least five gpx engines owned by mates that do it.
