Hey peopel my clutch cbale snapped. n im jsut wondering if u can or can not ride with out a clutch . if i do will it wreck the engine or gear box..

I guess you could. You would need to clutch start it.

yer i start it but i have to roll the bike 2 get it goin otherwise it piks up. so im jsut wondering weatehr it will reck anything...

I dont think so, not unless your fully revving and not changing gear.

if your really need this clutch cable take out your dad's soldering iron and solder the thing back to getter and file it down smooth, or simply go buy one.

gotta be like 20 bucks. buy one.

as for wrecking things, it will eventually wear out or damage the gear box. Not great

I have heard from people in the know that yiou should change gears using the clutch on the race track. this might mean that although engines like the lifan are pretty strong, they aren't really made for racing changing without clutch.

allrite then, and ive herd that these cables need 2 be oiled alot 2 keep them from snapping

Don't ride it without the clutch thats just idiotic, the engine can seize if you do and then you'll need a new engine.

Mine broke aswell, you have to buy a new one, cut it to the right length then solder the end bit on.

Can't belive anyone would even consider riding with out a clutch!!

And yes they do snap often from friction between the tube and the cable so put some oil down there.

yeh riding a manual bike with out a clutch is no good... ok if you break a caBLE out bush & have to ride back buy not for long periods of time

I know you can ride motocross bikes without using the clutch. They are actually designed for powershifting (holding the throttle wide open and shifting up gears without the clutch). But i think it will be a bit to much for these type of engines. They wouldnt be designed for not using the clutch.

$3 from KMART, just use any brake cable from a pushy, in fact if u bye a $3 brake cable from KMART, u cut it in half and u get 2 for $3. get a small nut and bolt, wrap the cable around the bolt once, the put the nut on and tighten, fixed.....

well when u dont ride it sucks and people ahve told me that u can ride with out a cltuch u jsut have to kepe the revs high

Yes you can ride with out the clutch but it'll break your engine so no, dont do it!

If you ride it now without the clutch it will develope much more serious problems and you'll just end up spending far more time off the bike.

id asume the clutches in these bikes work in the same way as normal bikes. bikes are different from car clutches. in a car the clutch actually seperates the motor from the transmission. in a bike it doesnt. it just lets it kind of slip enuf so that u can sit there and idle with the clutch in and it in gear. that being the case the clutch isnt really needed when riding. only taking off and feathering thru corners and stuff. u lose too much power when racing if u change gear using clutch.
just my thoughts. that being said tho if im just cruising round il use clutch. is a little nicer for the engine
