Woohoo. Me and a buddy went out to Lonsdale yesterday to teach a friend of mine to ride (not bad either), and in between lessons we took his Honda 125 ourselves for a few jumps.
I'm getting over this "using road racing skills on the dirt" bug that I have, and I'm getting better on dirt. Its been over 10 years since I seriously rode dirt. Well did a few sighting laps of the jumps being a pussy and working out how to take them, and then I started going for it. I was getting some seriusly good jumps too, until I landed quite heavily with the back wheel and the bike was all over the place. Down I went into a cloud of dirt and dust. LOL. This morning I woke up and I've got a massive bruise on my shin (just under the kneecap) with a few potential scar-leaving wounds. Bwahahahaha! I'm still laughing my arse off. I can stack it at Mallala on my race bike at 130+kph and walk away, but stack it at 30-40kph on the Honda and **** myself up!
My friend did really well yesterday. She's now ridden a total of 5 hours (on and off) since having never sat on a bike before in her life, and she was going up and down gears; taking corners at a good speed; and we even threw in some jumps for her (2 feet if that LOL) and she had a blast. AND she got to have her first stack too. But mine was better!!!
