looks like someone has finally done it, created forced induction on their bike and created new hope for everyone elses

yeah new a couple of guys that had z50's with same set up they apparently made big power increase but i never really looked into it back then, i was to busy strappin a yz125 an thought minis were wast of time an just guys who got in the road of real bike riders all the time:rolleyes: , how times have changed:)

I have to say the work looks magic

Supercharges dont tend to have blow off valve as they are run continuosly.(belt driven)..You are thinking of a Turbo(exaughst gas drives the turbine).....

Man i hope this guy gets it perfect and than sells kits :):) Im in heaven 5 times the Hp of an average pitty.....I hope the Tranny can handle it??I think not though..

Cheers my2c

looks like crap but wanna see how it would go. does it have blow off valve?

Good question, it sure does...it's right before your eyes, the cylinder in front of the intake manifold with the purple cap. All forced induction systems need bypass valve for when the throttle is suddenly snapped shut while engine is operating at high boost pressure.

wonder wot the reliability is like on that thing, how many hours/mins before rebuilds.

If you only run low boost their a damn good option for power. You dont need to have a hc piston cause the extra boost achieves the higher compression. You don't need a big cam cause the boost will blow the mix out the window. So your top end can stay pretty much standard. The main thing to watch is detonation from high compression achieved through too high a boost pressure Also mabye pulling the studs or something. But this guy would know what he's doing by the looks. If and when you grenade the motor just buy another cheapy and bolt the setup on again and race another season. Don't need all the hop up parts we shell out for.

CHEERS MACK U ALLWAYS HELP ME :D .HOW MUCH U REKON ONE OF THESE KITS WOULD COST? IM THINKING WAY OVER 1GRAND

i dont think it's a kit, i rkn that dude has done that all by him self. home made.

Yeah you need to have access to a machine shop and be pretty handy at problem solving and engineering to sort the problems involved in a custom supercharging project.

Looks home made...And it seems he knows what his doing..:)

IF it came ina kit form made in Land of OZ or NZ around $2000+ would be the mark...
China hehehe $700 through dealers

$10 on Ebay....

Yeah those prices look about right, except the Oz kit only would make about 10 hp increase, the china kit 15 hp increase, but the ebay kit said it could make 55 hp at the rear wheel! :D

Hahahahaha, I love this term! "Grenade" the motor. At first I thought I misread somethin' back there. Then imagination slowly set in....... Hahahaha!

Good one, Mack!

Well, back to the main topic... transplanting a blower from a 600cc engine and turning down the ratio via pulley sizes makes a lot of sense. Now adapting the whole contraption is totally another challenge altogether.

Overall, it sure is one exciting job. I'm more concerned about the gearbox thatn the engine parts though :)
