Is there much differance between the triangle frame swing arm and the traditional straight swing arm? Such as handling, strength and travel?

cheers Cav.

i dont no much bout if they handle different or if they r stronger n so forth but to me the A frame swingarms r the traditional 1s over the mono swingarm

I dont know what i am talking about so take this with a grain of salt..... But the shocks used with the "A" style use a smaller spring and smaller bolts to attach to the the frame and swing arm. Now the engineer in me says that this would indicate that the stresses involved in the "A" style would be lower than the mono style swing arm. Less stress would be a good thing from a design point of view for any piece of machinery. As to handling and looks and I will leave that to people who know what they are talking about.

there has been threads about this and it just a personal thing just depends what u like

Yeh personal preference, I personally prefer the mono swingarm as this has been used in big dirt bikes for many many years.

me i like the look of the mono swinger personally
i would of thought that the mono swinger would be better only cause all the big bikes use them an those bikes have alot more engineers trying to find the best part design
but hey thats just my 2cents

i would b better 4 big bikes but not 4 the minis i have a 125 wid mono swinger and a 110 wid triangle swinger if ya ask me i rather the triangle 1.
crf50 1 of the best minis u can get and it has a triangle swingarm and they have never changed it!!

But the best CRF50 frame and swingarm kit you can get is BBR one that has a mono swingarm.

Mono swingas are good when they have a linkage like on big bikes. The Triangle set up gives yoou more of a hard feeling which is good for jumping because it feels more like a BMX. Upright shock set up is better handling for faster outdoor style tracks with smaller jumps where it doesn't matter if the thing blows through the stroke and pogos out like they do. Trust me I have had a BBR with the lot and now have a CRF 70 with triangle arm and Ohlins shock and the best a guy can get in a mini is the triangle swinga. Hands down
