hey guys i am wanting to start building a pitbike. i have an old 01 ktm sx 65 frame (No engine) and i was wondering what would be the biggest and most powerful engine i would be able to fit in it and in saying that what would be the best engine to put in it. also everything on it is stock i.e back suspession, forks, handlebars and i was wondering what would i need to do in order for an adult to comfortably ride it, im currently 16.

well for starters a 65 aint a pitbike

pitbikes have horizontal engines and have wheel sizes of 14/12, 12/12 12/10, 10/10

hey man i dont know if there are and pit bike engines you would be able to put in it becasue of the engine mounts but you could probly smash somthing together. any pics?

yeh well i was just wondering you know weither i COULD fit something in there, because i understand that the frames on those kind of bikes are designed around the engine. i have actually been looking for an original 65 engine but for the year they are increasingly hard to come by. and unfortunatly i dont have any current pics, i have some pics from a long way back when it was actually running.

yer i would suggest hocking it off on ebay as a ktm roller

then using that money to buy somthing of more use

apart form that get creative an old chainsaw motor would be cool

yeh i have an rmz 250 so i ride fullsize bikes, but its just i have this frame sitting in my back yard not doing anything and i thought i could throw something together just so i can muck around on it. and i wouldnt think it would sell for much on ebay anyway so its probably worth more to me if i could get an engine in it then it is actual money wise

yeah man id say try your luck with a vertical 50 engine like the apes and stuff have (think there 100 though) but try to scavenge something like that. itd be pretty cool i reckon but get some photos up as soon as you can.
but id say no matter what your gonna have to make your own mounting brackets.
