Takegawa Decomp Cam Help

Hey Guys,

My Takegawa decomp cam arrived today and i have started to assemble it. Unfortunately though the instructions are in japanese.

Does anybody know of an english tutorial or something for assembling the decomp assembly?

I think that i have assembled it correctly but i would like to be 100% before i rish destroying my engine.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

What do you think you might be stuck on? I have a copy of engrish instructions for installing the cam, but only jap instructions for the auto-decomp side of things. did you check out my build thread, everyting was listed there except the correct torque settings, which i didn't bother with anyway, only used the torque wrench on the head bolts.

i think i may have sorted it, but can you confirm with me if you put all 5 of the small clips on the pin? also, should the pin screw in far enough to be snug on the block when it is engaged? I feel like there is a bit too much play in the block

Sweet and yea there should be a bit of play as it works on centrifugal force.

yeah i thought that the pin that you use to pull the shaft out to slip the circlip on was part of the camshaft which i wasnt sure about, but your thread cleared it up and the camshaft is installed
