Right so just got the new PC built and running! Forgot how little time it takes!!

Its pretty much top of the line AMD never had one before so I'm giving it a crack to see how it compares to Intel stuff!

Black edition F2 socket processor 4.2GHz quad core

A88Xfatality FM2+ mobo

8GIG 1600MHz ram

600watt Coolmaster PSU

Coolmaster tower case

Sapphire R9 270x 4gig edition

HDD will be upgraded when ive tested the old stuff ill prob run a RAID setup when I get that done!

I might upgrade it to make the top spill proof considering how the last one died!

This should keep going for 5+ years without issue

Use a phone and use the money on bikes! Priority's Stu! geez!:LAME::D

Not bad mate.

One tip though, run 2 SSD drives in RAID 1 for your OS (gives you the speed and redundency) and then get a couple of normal HDD's for your raid 5 or 10 setup.

Hey nice new set up..... Watch your psu, running raid ssd hdd and big cards etc also especially amd chipset, would def be running minimum 850w psu..... I run 1000w on all mine.... That being said I have like 6 hdd in all mine :/

Yeah that would be pretty good! I havnt delved into SSDs yet bit pricey for me atm!!

SSD drives actually use a lot less power than old school spinning disks. No moving parts. Graphics cards can be the killers though.

Nah man look around. You only need like a 200gig one tops for the OS. Even if you just get one and not worry about mirroring just back it up to an external HD. I can't tell you how much of a difference it makes. Best upgrade you will ever do.

Hmmmm, going to have to disagree with you on that one! I had a 1200watt with my old 260gtx SLI setup. That died a year ago and got replaced with an antec 750watt. 600watt is recommended requirements for the sapphire card! If I have any problems the antec will replace the Coolmaster...but I doubt it still in benchmarking phase trying to sort out what works best ;-) if I do go SSD and put my old raid setup we will see, PSUs were over rated for years...750watt was fine for 2 big graphics cards, 4HDD two DVD drives a 333 gigabyte dual lan mobo with pretty much everything overclocked as high as it would go....so lots of extra voltage to ram,CPU etc....I was kind of surprised the 750 worked fine!

agreed SSD's are the bomb and worth every cents

especially as motorman says running your os off them

your system will run sooooo much smoother

Yep I run all antec psu's. You will find it will drain running only a 600w.... You won't get the power thru the card when u need it, and will more than likely get blue screen issues.... Or random reboots. AMD always use more power and run hotter than intels too....

Ill give it a few runs through 3dmark today and see if it bombs on me! Its 600watt but its not a cheapie, triple rail guaranteed 600watt! Half the point of the new sockets F2 and 1150 was to lower mobo voltage use. Everything runs significant lower voltages than. For example on the 775 Intel stuff those boards were so power hungry...if I have a problem you'll be the first to know!

Ok ill look at SSD driver but I am really poor atm...bit quiet at work this week!

Good luck with it! Hope it all runs smoothly and u don't have any issues, though if u do, you'll know where to be looking :)

Oh yeah, an ssd on the os is amaze balls the boot time is ridiculous!

This new mobo has fast boot. I have it disabled and was timing it 10seconds from post test to windows....not sure how much faster it could be on the boot side really :p

Geez alright alright, I'll look into SSDs.....:flipa:

No point having all that grunt when your disk is bottle necking everything. :)

Wow....just encoding my first vid on the new beast. 2 Mins to encode a 700mb video  damn straight thats decently impressive!!

well, guess who just ordered, a pc case and a psu? me!!!! lol
case is a corsair carbide spec-03
and the psu is a Be Quiet! pure power L8 500w
thats right, 500watts... why would i under power my rig? well actually im over powering my future setup...
and this is what i use to calculate how many watts i need,
Cooler Master Power Supply Calculator
but hang on why would you run a 1000w psu on a rig that totals in at about 650w, well actually your making your rig less power efficient by doing so, todays market for big power supplies are getting smaller, as the components we are using need less power to do things ie; processing.
ohh and my current rig? well its a msi gt70 0nd laptop, with 20gb's of ram, intel i7 3630qm (previous gen) a GTX675MX with 4gb GDDR5, also a 1tb harddrive with a 156gb SSD set in raid 0
and yes it was expensive.... lol

Nice rig well. I'm almost positive you're going to have problems with that power supply and video card :/ I just took the 600watt double rail antec out and put the 750watt triple rail antec in and having far less issues with the R9 270....I forgot to account for the fact its the 4gb model and was gettign artifacts on my web browser when more than 10 pages open...weird but it was power....OOPS...lucky I had the 750 laying around!! I have the 600watt super quiet if you need it should be able to post it to ya for $50 its literally done since this thread was started until yesterday.
