last night i got

New air filter (dual core foam)
NGK plug
new ignition lead

changed it all over on my Ducar 125,

but it feels like its running lean, sounds tinny, pops more, and the spark plug has white tip,

would i need to make carby adjustments after changing these few items?

Cheers

You might have to play with your mixture, try moving the e clip down one space first. If this dosent fix it a small play with the mixture screw may help.

ok the clip cass38a is talking about is inside the carby slide, take the top cap of ur carby (watch the spring), take the cable uot of the slide so u can release the spring out. look from the top dow the slide ul c a little metal retainer for the needle take that out, now the needle will come free, on the needle their is 5 little groves urs is prob in the middle either move the little "c" clip down a notch or 2 to richen it up or move it up to lean it out. i dont think iv explained it very well but its not that hard to do good luck!

thanks champs

yeah you explained it fine, it wasnt that hard at all, spent few hours tonight doing full throttle spark plug tests, and its rich, not lean like i first guessed,

plug was dry black sooty, thats rich correct;)

the throttle was bit flat tonight, which would have indicated running rich i beleive, ran good, just a bit doughy on take offs,

SO i just moved the E clip like you said just than:

i moved the clip UP ONE to lean it out a tad,

just fired her up to annoy the neighbours, and it felt different already, nice and smooth and SHARP throttle responce again,

cant wait to ride it friday now:D

thanks heaps guys, appreciate it!!!

on my carb where is the mixture screw? is it under the carb? is the one on the left hand side the idle screw?

Thanks

the idle mixture screw is the one on the left, recessed screw,

and the idle speed screw is the one with the spring on it,

but remember the mixture screw is only for idle and 1/4 throttle only.

so how do u adjust the bike from lean to rich or rich to lean do u do what thrahthumpy said or do u screw the screw at the bottom of the carb and yea and that screw is in the worst place
