hi guys,

thru a mate of mine, we got talking about pit bikes & he told me that he had a pocket bike but doesnt use it - so, he gave it to me :) i happily took it off his hands.

what brand is it? he seems to think its a 50cc 2 stroke...i also want to know what brand oil i should run & what ratio/mix?

its been sitting collecting dust so i'm going to pull the plastics off it & give it an overhaul - any other suggestions on what i should service/inspect would be much appreciated.

its my little tweety bird haha (pics below)

Thanks Craig.
I wasn't expecting it to be a yellow Ducati hehe
Can it handle an adult? I've seen them take off and are quite sluggish so maybe I can run with it like The Flintstones lol

Yeah it'll handle an adult, i rode my old one a few time's.
There's a few upgrade's you can do to them like fit a performance carby, better pipe, lighter flywheel, boost bottle, adjustable clutch, even big bore kit's

Lightened Flywheel 49cc Pocket Rocket Dirt Bike Quadard | eBay
Racing Carburettor Carby FOR 2 Stroke 49 CC Mini Dirt Quad Pocket Bike | eBay
Clutch Heavy Duty Performance Pocket Rocket Bike ATV 43cc 47cc 49cc Quad Mini | eBay
POWER BOOST BOTTLE 49cc 2 stroke high performance engine Pocket push bike GOLD

And replace the pull start cord with a decent quality one, you can buy new h/d cord at bunning's in the rope section.

My old one

That is a nice ride u had there.
Those listed mods total less than $100 which is attractive...far cheaper than the factory Braaap.

This is why I like all of these minibikes, cheap to mod.

My gixxer 1000 with titanium full system, power commander and dyno tune was approx 4k...then again, we are talking 180 hp :)

Change the stock clutch ASAP. The longest the stock ones lasted on me was less than one hour.
The plastic pull starters don´t last either. Use aluminium pull starter case and chainsaw/brushcutter/lawn mower starter rope.

It wouldn't need much tyre pressure, maybe 18psi ? try it and see what it feel's like with your weight on it.

Those boost bottle's are copied from old Yamaha 2 stroke's etc etc, they hold a certain amount of vacuum/fuel mixture on the intake side of the carby and can help to smooth out the fuel delivery in 2 stroke's.
They noticably improve low to midrange power.
