can anyone tell me if this coil will suit a ducar 125? http://tinyurl.com/tloes
i know it says suits thumpstar etc but my mates ducar has a similar but slightly different one and i don't want to get the wrong one.
cheers
chris

yeh that will do the job theres a few different models but they seem to all do the same job. got a cdi if ya want

which cdi do you have? my mates one has two white plugs and the ebay ones have one green plug. will either one work?
how much for your cdi + post to 2753 nsw?

hay mate, coils are coils. anything which is made for the thumpstar range / crf50 range / and in some cases the klx110 range will fit the majority of bikes as their all based on a standard "blueprint" if you like. if your looking for a cheap replacment then this is the one for you. if your looking for something which will give you a better spark then you might want to look at the kitaco super coil and the kitaco high rev cdi to go with it. while the CDI isnt needed its advisable as it will give you a better power band "increased over the rev range" and possible removal of the rev limiter in some cases.

hope this helps mate.

Cheers, Tony.

i'm just looking for a cheap replacement at the moment. i just bought it anyway.
does anyone make or sell quaranteed performance cdis? i've seen posts on here that say some make a big difference and others you wouldn't even know.

most places your roughly looking at somewhere between 70 - 90 a piece. expensive yes but i think their worth it for both performance and quality.

that`s not too bad if it makes a real difference but do u think it would do much to a stockie?? im not really interested in hotting it up with any internal mods as it`s mainly for the lad and i just like to have sum fun on it now and then so removable go fast bits are the go... i`ll just wait til it blows up and get one of these 138 oil cooled motors and transfer these bits then if possible. where did you buy your coil and cdi bones??

this is one place to get them from, you could also go to sa dirt bikes because i know they have a super coil in stock but generally their more expensive, call them first and find out. www.sadirtbikes.com and they will be able to give you a price on all the components your looking for but i would say you will pay a little more. it will make a difference but on a stock motor i think it will be slight. possibly not worth the $200 that it would set you back and something you may want to look at when you or IF you get a 138cc. now on the other hand if your going to spend say $100 on a cdi and coil then i would say spend the extra on the other units because they will make a slight difference and a noticable difference if you were to upgrade.

hope this helps.

Cheers, Tony.

thanx again tony, i`ll see if they will do me a deal and yeh i use to go to sa dirt bikes a fair bit but they do seem pretty pricey, especially for labour and they always quote me half of what they end up charging which is a huge piss me off. i always get the yank too and he is annoying as hell so im thinking of going to yamaha world on wakefield st now. they have been pretty helpful so far and havent stuffed me around... yet. i actually live up near pirie and the local guy here is a complete ******* and has screwed me over a few times so now i save everything for my adelaide trips or do mail orders. ballards offroad in sydney is a good place and they are very helpful but i dont think they do much for the pit bikes atm.
