Good evening everyone.
I was just wondering what yous have found to be the best exhaust gasket to use on the v2 head??
The copper ones DHZ and ebay shops sell dont fit in the head. Thanks

try silastic (dont laugh) its rated to 2000 deg plus and we use too use it instead of extractor gaskets on our race boats, never blew one out

I was thinking of one of the ultra products like the ultra blue or ultra copper but seemed a bit bodgy. It seems like the gaskets for the v2 are hard to come by. Thanks for your input clunky.

ultra copper is the most extreme temp silicon, yes a lot think its dodgy but hey if it works and it does

you should be having no drama's because the V2 heads exhaust flange port is exactly the same as the original head..
only thing i have had trouble with in the past is the exhaust flange is too thin and just cuts through the gasket..

I use maniseal from repco $10/tube will give you hundreds of rebuilds. It works a reat on my v2. Black salastic also woks fine. I could not fit a dhz gasket on my v2. It seems there ar not all aike.
Ride on DD

ok, i just measured with the verniers... approx 2mm smaller on the OD with the V2 head..

should still be able to get one in there just use a socket to tap it in..

It definatly dont fit in the v2 head without making a mess of it.The copper is to soft to manipulate into place with a knockometer. I would of thought there would be a gasket out there some where available to fit straight into the v2.I have asked around amongst my mates with the v2 and they have all had the same problem.

i just looked at my v2 head i bought 2nd hand and it has an aluminum one in there so try one of those

mate i had a similar problem with my takky head, but as sean states above, with the copper gaskets just get a big enough socket with an extension and it takes a tiny bit of persuasion but it does go in there eventually and sits in there nice n tight...
