Hey all,

I am looking to get a full sized 250cc bike to jog around the paddock on, looking to spend around $1500. I want reviews only from people who own them, although I do find it very funny that people have to put in their 2 cents when they obviously don't have one.

I would like to know about parts replacements / reliablity / riding styles

Do you jump or do you trail ride or just putt around like me.

Don't want to hear "Get a 125cc RM or other crap"

Regards

Paul.

I have an 07 atomik pro-x, it is ****. The motor is probably the only decent thing about it. Front forks are soooooooooo soft i cannot ride it off road faster than second gear without severe jarring. They are not full size even though advertised as one, equivalent to a 85cc 2stroker.

Mine has not been that reliable. Arrived with cracked manifold (3 week wait for replacement from atomik), magneto/stator died within a month, rear shock blew out after 1.5 months (i dont jump this thing btw), both tyre tubes blew out within 2 days of each other suggesting poor quality after 3 months, clutch cable snapped after 3months. Motor has been very reliable lately (last 2 months), it cops a floggin every ride and still starts first time everytime.

I know its not what you want to hear, but save up $2500 and get a jap bike. China bikes are designed for suckers.

ur better of buying a older model honda or kawasaki.lil china 125 arnt bad but the 250s all suck from what iv heard

Ive got a Pitpro 250 and its pretty gud. When i first got it it had a fuel tank leak but i contacted pitpro and they got me a new one within days. Its pretty gud, i like ride it on flat open area but like the odd trail ride. It has quite a bit of grunt too. Its not goin to compete in anything but can prove some people wrong who reckon 250 chinese bikes are sh!+

you can get 2ndhand '00 125cc 2 strokes for $2500-3000. My mate bought his 96 xr400 for $2000 it goes like the clappers. china bikes are made to last a month tops, as long as they secure ur money.

Thanks for the reply guys, not exactly what I am after, I have the money to buy any bike I want, but I am going to buy an ebay bike just to plod around the paddock on. If and when I decide to do trail riding I will probably get a Japanesse bike. I have spoken to a few people recently and they have had there bikes at least 2 months and are still going strong. I was after replys from people who have them, I am not out for a fast bike, speed doesn't interest me.
