who here prefers 125cc bikes or 140cc bikes? just wondering cos i want to know what type would be better for riding in paddocks and having fun on with mates. ive heard that some people prefer 125s to 140s because the power band responce is better or something.

anymore than 125cc is getting too big IMO for a pitty,

if you cant win on a 125cc than you cant ride:p

The 125s are meant to have a smoother power response but the 140s are meant to be a little more torquey and have a bit more top end speed.

BTW i ride a 125.

I would rather have a 125 air cooled engine instead of my 138 (127) oil cooled engine.

MSO sent it to me by accident lol

140cc for me

i had a 127cc and decided i wanted more hp so i went for the 140cc
i have no regrets buying it i love the extra power

mt 138cc is **** loads more snappy. angry down low compared to 125's

all depends on your riding style

Yeah it does, if you ride FMX and official races then 125 is deffinately the way to go.

125's have a different power band thats better for jumps and they act a bit different, the 140's seem to break a bit more than the 125's, slight power difference, 140 has a slightly higher top end but no major difference.

Unless you are drag racing neither engine will really be faster.

i ride a 125. it's getting stupid these days. people are just trying to get bigger and bigger engines n wheel sizes.i remember when my mate got his oldschool thumpstar with the 10'/10' wheel set up and the 110 engine and no clutch. now they are gettin too big.although i have only had my motovert for 6 months i have been wanting a pitty since my mate got his thumpstar a fair few years ago.

i say there is no point to a 140 keep the minibikes mini.

there is no big difference between all these just a couple of mm a good rider can cancel this out no problem

but i don't ride anything china anymore so just my 88cc

I've got a 140, pulls away from the 125s on the straights but the 125 seems to have better response down low.

Yep thats exactly right Squeeby, I have to rev my 140 harder around the track to keep up with the 125's but if its a big open road then the 140's faster.

My mate has a 140cc I'll have to ask for a go so i can feel the difference cause i am quite interested so see how much the 15cc makes.

Tried different gearing?

The 140 would offer more punch in the right gearing.
