Hi guys,
I'm new to the forums and looking at buying my first 125cc mini dirt bike.
I have around $1000 to spend and have been reserching all of my options over the last week.

I have decided that the BSE/MONSOON/MSO bike looks like one of the better bikes going around at the moment and this is the bike that I want to get.
I have been in contact with mso ([email protected]) and they sell these bikes for $850.

I also noticed there were a whole heap going cheap on EBAY about a week ago but they have all disappeared.

My main questions are:
Does anyone one know of anywhere else that is selling these bike cheaper than $850????

Are these bikes any good????

Are these bikes slighly smaller (CRF50 size?) than the orions and atomiks (which I want to stear clear of)????

I look forward to your replies
Cheers
Bob

The cheap run on the Monsoon's was short lived. Wezza on the is forum was lucky enough to get one for $600. Both the current sellers have a fixed price of about $850. I got the cheapest one that I saw in the first shipment for $895. If they don't sell at that price, the Monsoon guy might do another no reserve week...ya never know. The MSO bloke has been selling most word of mouth, not on Ebay. Usually one bloke gets one and then his mates see it and follow suit.

On the question of size....no these bikes aren't smaller that the AGB's. The seat height is fine and I'm 6' 1". I didn't like the look of the higher end pitbikes at first 'cause of the flat seats, but their a hell of a lot more comfortable. I think growing up with KX's YZ's RM's & CR's through the 1980's I just wanted that styling. I think a lot of guys are stuck on the the style of the AGB's 'cause of the dipped seat and kicked up rear plastic. If you have a look on the BSE website at their whole range, you'll see that they make this style as well, but no one is importing them.
The AGB's I've ridden have wrong shaped bars and badly placed footpegs. If I put a footpeg cradle mount on my BSE I will probably bring them back and inch or so, but they're not to bad.

Thats a good price for this bike. I am getting one race ready, gonna be a very fast bike.

Cool thanks for the info guys.
So no one knows anyone else that has these bikes for sale?
I reckon I will go with the MSO croud but just wanted to weigh up my options first.
Anyone else on here had exposure to these bikes?

Bob

Hi Bob, I've got one of the MSO's and so now do four of my mates. They have been great to deal with and the bikes are awesome. You can't go wrong for the bucks. You'll be stoked if you get one :)

I have a MSO but the more expensive alloy version which cost me $1050, I'm selling it to my brother because I just got a proper bike - KX250.

No matter what you spend, **** on these bikes will break. I bent the handlebars (replaced them with Pro Tapers), bent the rear brake lever, and the exhaust fell off never to be found again.

In defence to Ken & Linda from MSO their service is great and they had all parts on hand which I'm in the process of replacing at the moment so my brother can start riding it.

After riding my KX250 for a few weeks I regret ever wasting money on these things. Save your cash and buy a proper dirt bike.

Cheers,
Matt

you'll do that to your KX as well if you keep stacking hard...

Mack - I know all you have is praise for the BSE bikes but you can't compare the two. I've already put the KX down a couple of times and haven't broke or bent anything.

The stack on the pitbike that bent the bars and brake levers was nothing either, I could bend the standard handle bars in my hands when they were off the bike that's how **** they were.

Looks a lot better too. :)

I must admit the pitbikes are fun racing against your mates which we did, but they have nothing on full size bikes.

Spend whatever your budget allows, just realise that you will spend money replacing ****.

Mate I know what your sayin I've bent the crap outa the bars too. Renthals are a must for any bike if you like to have fun. I don't have any alliegance to any particular brand, just best value for a starting bike to be built up.

KX looks great alright, last bike I rode before getting into fifty's was KX 500, man that bike was a weapon. At the end of the day you can't compare the bikes as they're for totally dif purposes. Many guys keep and own both. I know I've had a bigger laugh on the mini!

still looking for another 500 though...

Cool thanks for the info guys.
I'm definitely only looking at getting a mini dirt bike at the moment as all my mates have them and I'm only a beginner rider so it's a great starting point.

My mates have had all kinds of problems with theirs and I am aware that **** is gunna break and that I'm gunna have to replace stuff when it breaks, what do you expect when you are spending $1000 as apossed to a $3000 - $10,000 on a full size bike.

The MSO guys seem to have a good range of replacement parts so I guess that will make things a bit easier when wanting to replace parts rahter than serching around ebay for parts that may or may not fit.

I just wanted to make sure these bikes aren't absolute crap like some of the other cheap bikes going around at the moment.

Sorry bob I may have come across a little harsh, but definately one of the best for the $1000 mark. If you have $1000 to spend maybe spend the extra $100-200 and get the all alloy version.

Linda & Ken @ MSO are fantastic, I paid for some parts yesterday and already they're getting couriered down to Sydney today, now that's service.

Good luck with your purchase.
