my feet are almost flat on the ground on a big wheel and i know the 150 don't race 125 but do you have to run in 2 strokes and i can get a cut down seat to if it is a bit to hight and my boots with put an inch on my hight anyway
yes two strokes have to be run-in. all new engines need to be run-in. How you do it, and whether you do it, is up to you...
basically, (VERY basically) to run in a two stroke, check oil level, add fuel, start it, let it warm up a bit, give it a few revs, nothing too over the top, then turn off, let it cool down.
once it's cooled a bit, start it again, let it warm take it for a bit of a squirt down the driveway, run it through the gears, give it a couple of full throttle blats, but dont hold it wide open down your 3 km driveway...
let it cool, repeat process, then drain the oil. refill oil, repeat the above processes for the first tank or two, giving it the occasional wide open blat, but dont baby it toooo much... should be pretty right with that..
Personally i agree with Roost, dont bother with an 85 or 150. puberty will eventually bitchslap you, you'll wake up one morning to find you are 6'1'', and will need a bigger bike. Go for a second hand 125, by the sound of it your maintenance and riding skill/experience is still on the incline, so learn on something inexpensive. Me, i'd go with a YZ... Very trouble free, and a great all round bike. The KTM would be too tall for you, (Why are KTM's always taller????) and while the CR is aimed at smaller riders such as yourself, they do require a bit of maintenance.. eg: replacing reeds every ten hours etc etc... rings every fifteen blah blah blah... (and before all you CR owners complain they dont need that much work, i'm talking race situations, or fast riders based on suggested service intervals... read your manuals!!)
so motovert24, buy an 02-05 YZ125, you wont look back.
