Hi guys,

Im so new to the pittbike scene i havent even rid mine yet!

any i need to get the wiring done,

I have got this CDI off ebay.. eBay Australia: Buy new & used fashion, electronics & home d

but here comes my problem...

There is a wire that comes out of the lifan 140 engine, green with a red stripe,

I am pretty sure i have everything in the right spot, but im not sure where to connect my killswitch or anything... could you please help me out :( want to kick it over!

just a note, the killswitch has a black wire, and a yellow/red one.. as you will see it has been added onto.

thanks!!

Does the 140 have a Inner rotor kit from standard? like this one

just checked the link by cdi you mean inner rotor kit and cdi, the red and green is not hooked to anything so tape it up and hide it, on the killswith the black and white should be connected to the red and yellow i believe and the green to black, the black and white will go into the double terminal and the black can be hooked up to the earth wire(green) that is available. Please correct me anyone if im leading this bloke on the wrong path.

the red and yellow should plug into the double red terminal and the black will hook onto the engine or an existing earth wire, the green earth wire from the cdi with the loop connector will bemounted to the engine on an engine bolt

thanks so much! thats all i needed to hear! and now my head can rest and not explode!! haha

just quickly, the engine was swapped over, and i noticed that the red/yellow on the kill switch are leading to earth, so should i connect the black one to the double adapter thing?? would just make sense :)

and if it doesnt work its not going to blow anything up right? haha

if its a push button(single button)killswitch then it really doesnt matter but if it is a on and off switch then plug the red and yellow(green) into the double red adaptor, either way the killswitch is the easy bit as it is will either have spark or no spark when the switch is switched either way.
Nothing will blow up but be warned that by my experience those Inner Rotor Kits are hit and miss and dont be surprised if it plays up on you out of the blue.

This link of the black inner rotor kit that comes standard on some yx engines i have found to be alot more reliable, not sure if its the materials used in the build but have found them lasting longer.

ok thanks!

just wondering, tried to kick it over this morning but wouldn't go (yet to figure out why)... and when i put fuel in the overflow seems to just drip out straight away?

any ideas?

Try unhooking the killswitch and then remove the plug and put it in the cap and check for spark, if it has spark try holding the throttle flat when kicking in case it is flooding which it is with the overflow leaking, the carby needs a clean as the float needle has something holding it open or is stuck open, but check for spark first

IF IT AIN'T BROKE, BREAK IT :)
